According to written sources, along with other calendar holidays and special fairs, Midsummer's Fair was also popular in Vilnius, often called the "Herb Market" by the locals. St. John's kermošius had deep traditions since the XNUMXth century. Ave. The specialty of this fair was medicinal herbs and flowers, the market was held two days before the Rasa festival.
This year, visitors to "Žolyn turgas" will not only be able to purchase various medicinal herbs or other natural products. They are also waiting for a lecture by herbalist Marius Lasinskas about medicinal herbs, neo-folkloric groups will take place during the festival concert, various educational activities. There will be an opportunity to make a natural beeswax candle, weave a flower wreath, make and taste a homemade chestnut, sew a rag doll, make a book or even learn how to walk on stilts!
Those who want to know how things will turn out in the coming year will be able to make a fortune - witches-fortune tellers will visit the Herb market, as every year.
In addition to the traditional euro, the currency of the "Zolyny turgaus" will be in circulation in the market, which can be purchased by everyone who participates in the entertainment or buys a lot at the market. In the evening, at 18:XNUMX, there will be an auction of mystery items, where it will be possible to pay in local currency. In the evening, the participants of the fair will look for the "fern flower", and the one who finds it will receive a gift.
