August 30-September 1 in the very center of Vilnius - Lukiškiai square - the traditional Vilnius sports festival will take place. At this sports fiesta, which will take place during the "Capital Days", it will be possible to participate in various trainings and competitions, enjoy a night zumba show, as well as get acquainted with many sports and clubs.
It is during the sports fair that you will be able to try out many sports and discover your favorite activity. This is especially useful for parents with children, for whom it is a great opportunity to find great after-school activities before the start of the school year.
And this year, the list of participants of the Vilnius Sports Festival is more extensive and interactive than ever. For example, the "Good Wind" club will give away a special free sailing training in September. At Lukiškės Square, you will be able to see a yacht and learn everything about cruising sport sailing.
"We want to present our beautiful sport in an unusual place. We will have a large yacht, we will decorate the mast, and there will also be a couple of smaller boats. It will be possible to get acquainted with our sailing school, which is in Trakai"We want to show that this sport is suitable for everyone and can be cultivated from the age of seven to old age," said Mantas Klimantavičius, head of the "Good Wind Club".
Among the numerous sports clubs, groups, and wellness organizations participating in the fair, a novelty in Lithuania will be presented - tricycle sport.

This sport is intended for people with disabilities - those who have difficulty walking or cannot walk but can use their legs. Triathlon is included in the Paralympic Games program and is expected to debut at the Games in 2024.
"This sport is unique because it was created for people with movement and balance disorders, as well as people with cerebral palsy. Those people who cannot move independently can easily move forward by pedaling or even running with the help of a tricycle. This is very important for these people. At the same time, it is a new sport," said Aušra Kriškoviecienė, president of the Lithuanian Tricycle Association. "We will bring tricycles for children and adults to Lukiškės Square. They can be adjusted individually for each person, so healthy people will also be able to try this tool. The more people learn about this opportunity, the greater the understanding of this innovation will be."
Unbelievably, the Vilnius Sports Festival will also be dedicated to people's pets this time. "Doggy Gym" will provide an opportunity to try out special training equipment for dogs.
"We will bring a self-propelled treadmill. There will be an opportunity for dogs to run, and we will tell people what the differences are between the tracks. Some are designed for endurance, others for building strength. This is especially relevant for those involved in dog sports. And for ordinary enthusiasts, it can be very useful, because if a dog is overweight, such a trainer will be very useful. The process of losing weight is similar to that of a person. I have noticed that people are interested in this innovation and are asking questions," shared Simonas Damašius, founder of the "Doggy gym" club.

In total, more than 100 various sports clubs and organizations will present their activities during the Vilnius Sports Festival.
The three-day sports fiesta will also feature a street gymnastics championship "Street Workout Battle 2019", a night Zumba festival, an arm curling championship, numerous "MyFitness" activities, boxing training, and an intriguing "Fitness Challenge" tournament.
On Sunday, open training sessions with the best coaches will take place on the main stage, as well as the traditional and highly-attended barbell press competition with Ironvytas. Also on Sunday, children will be able to frolic and have fun on trampolines for free, and spectators will be able to watch a variety of performances by athletes and dancers.
The most prominent Lithuanian sports and healthy lifestyle specialists will share their experience and advice in the Active Training presentation zone. There will be as many as 14 lectures and discussions on Saturday and Sunday.
Vilnius Sports Festival is already taking place from August 30 to September 1.
