September 20 at 20 p.m. The Neris embankment near the Karalias Mindaugas bridge will be illuminated by an impressive spectacle - the Autumnal Equinox celebration traditionally organized by the Vilnius Ethnic Culture Center. Vilnius residents and guests of the city will see the alignment of day and night in the heart of the capital - flaming compositions will glow in the dark. This year's Autumn Equinox is dedicated not only to the transformation of nature, but also to the Day of Baltic Unity and the centenary of the restoration of the Lithuanian state.
This year event will be proud of the history of their country. A sculpture created by artists Vytautas and Kęstutis Musteikii, embodying the three legends of the origin of Vilnius and shining with the colors of the Lithuanian flag, will rise on the banks of the Neris River. During the event, a musical composition specially created by the composer Algirdas Klova will be played, in which the howling of the iron wolf and the sound of the sunken bell in the Nery will be heard. Vilnius schoolchildren, students and volunteers will light thousands of fire candles in the dark, turning the river embankment into a flaming strip of XNUMXs - a gift to Lithuania celebrating the centenary of statehood.

An integral part of the Autumnal Equinox is spectacular fire spectacles marking the equalization of the length of day and night. This year, the festival will be illuminated by the fakir troupe "Lords of Fire" and "Blikas", which will create pyrotechnic effects. During the equinox, we will say goodbye to the sun, warmth, thank the Earth for this year's harvest and various goodies - "Baltic Vikings" will float the offerings of the equinox through the waters of Neris.
The song and dance ensemble "Šviesa" of the Lithuanian University of Education will take part in the celebration. Vilnius University song and dance ensemble and "Pynimėlis" song and dance ensemble of Kirtimiu Cultural Center.
