On the occasion of Vilnius' 700th birthday, city residents and guests are invited to turn four autumn Sundays into "Judradienias" - visit the most beautiful trails of Vilnius with family, pets and friends, explore the most beautiful corners of nature and take part in special activities.
Experienced hiker and geographer Bronius Budrys will lead the "Judradienių" hikes. According to him, the road will not be long if the travelers go in the right direction and do not lose their good mood. And that will certainly be taken care of - the guests of "Judradienių" will try the route, where they will get to know the expressive terrain of Vilnius with their own feet, visit the reserves of the capital and small lakes hidden in the city.
Vilnius is famous as one of the greenest cities in Europe, so the participants of "Judradienios" will be invited to pay attention to the strongest natural asset - trees. Have you ever wondered what the long-lived people of Vilnius could tell you? Marija Žukovskienė, a scientist and dendroclimatochronologist of the Nature Research Center, promises a special education - to talk to the trees and discover their mysterious stories together with the participants of the hikes.
The children and youth club "Shatrija", which organizes "Judradienius", made sure that both older and younger hikers do not lose motivation, so the most loyal travelers will receive appreciation and reward for the journeys they have made. Travelers who have registered and completed all four tracks will participate in a lottery where they can win very exciting prizes - invitations to the trampoline park.
The planned duration of the hikes is from 11 a.m. to 14 p.m. At the beginning of the route, the organizers promise to refill the drinkers of the hikers with hot tea and provide them with snacks.
"Move Days" will take place:
- October 22, 11 a.m. start in Saulės slėni, near Maxima V. Grybo st. 21;
- October 29, 11 a.m. start at Šeškiuk lake (towards the Television tower);
