Thursday marks the start of European Mobility Week, the world's largest campaign for sustainable mobility, encouraging people to choose environmentally friendly vehicles and walk more. For the campaign events September 16-22 will take place throughout Lithuania. It will end with the traditional Car Free Day, which will be celebrated by most of the country's municipalities.
This year's theme of the European Mobility Week is "Safe and healthy while moving sustainably", the motto is "Move sustainably. Stay healthy."

Philosopher Viktoras Bachmetjevas and culturologist Agnė Narušytė will be invited to discuss "The car and the city: is life without a car just a utopia?", moderated by Marijus Gailius.

In the capital, on September 22, on Car-Free Day, the area of Gediminas Avenue will be open only to pedestrians and cyclists, it will include various active activities, and an exhibition of clean vehicles will take place.
