"Music on water" was started three years ago event, loved by the people of Vilnius and the guests of the capital from the first chords and established itself in the Kristupas summer festival program. Becoming traditional concert This year, it will be held on August 28 at the quays of Neris. The ship "Riga" will appear Lithuanian army orchestra led by Egidijus Ališauskas and charismatic bassist Liudas Mikalauskas.
"Liudas Mikalauskas will join the Lithuanian Army Orchestra this year. I think that this particular soloist is just ideal for this year's concept, not only because of his excellent voice, but also because of his patriotism, which is revealed in the social initiatives carried out alongside the concert activities. A concert we are dedicating it to the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuania's Independence, so the performers themselves become a symbol of freedom," said Jurgita Murauskienė, artistic director of the Kristupas summer festival.
in 1991 E. Ališauskas, the bandmaster and conductor of the established Lithuanian Army Orchestra, promised that an extraordinary evening, filled with music that inspires unity, awaits the visitors. The collective, which consists of 60 professional musicians, participates in reception ceremonies of the highest level of state guests, solemn state events, performs at military music festivals in Germany, Belgium, in Poland, in the Netherlands, Denmark, France, Estonia, Sweden, Czech Republic. The pieces performed by the orchestra are also played during solo concerts, and the recordings are broadcast on Lithuanian radio and television.
According to J. Murauskienė, there is no doubt about the performers' enthusiasm and passion to fill the hearts of the listeners gathered on the banks of the Neris with the best emotions. It is still unknown whether the ship will be able to leave the pier as planned: "Due to the hydrological drought, the water level in Neri is extremely low. In some places it can simply be waded through. Although the nearest forecast is for rain, I'm not sure how much it will save. In the worst case, the ship will remain at the pier near the Karalias Mindaugas bridge, but the concert will still take place", assured J. Murauskienė.
For the first time, the Military Conscription and Recruitment Service of the Lithuanian Army will participate in the event, whose representatives will introduce the weapons used in the army, and soldiers will answer all questions of interest. The tent, open to everyone who is curious, will be waiting on Žvejų st. side (near the "Krantinė Arch" sculpture).
