Already this weekend, July 17-19, at the sports field at White bridge Lithuanian airports offers to accept a challenge that will last as long as a trip around the world - 45 hours. An unexpected initiative that will take place during the "French Vacation" events organized by "Go Vilnius" will invite you to change the sofa into an airplane seat and stretch out as much as patience and habits developed during the quarantine will allow. The lucky person who demonstrates the best sitting results will be awarded with flight tickets for two to the capital of love - Paris.
The idea of the challenge was suggested quarantine
As Marius Zelenius, the head of the communication department of the Lithuanian Airports, tells us, organizing the event "Challenge to fly around the world: transfer from the sofa to the seat of the plane" was lost after the recently officially ended quarantine, which caused many trials in the life of every member of society.
"Let's face it, the quarantine really made everyone calm down and sit at home. Many have had to give up their much-loved air travel. However, no quarantine can block the desire to travel. Therefore, this time we decided to look at the situation with a bit of humor and announce a challenge that everyone could overcome. This is probably the easiest way to win a flight and not anywhere, but to romantic Paris", comments M. Zelenius.
Those competing for the prize have strict rules
For those who want to participate and win a prize, all they have to do is come to the Sports Field near the White Bridge, register, get comfortable in the prepared airplane seat and...sit down. Pre-registration for the challenge is not carried out, so the first to arrive at the venue will be the first to occupy the seats.
It is difficult to predict exactly how long the challenge will last, but the organizers' idea is ambitious - participants are invited to sit for as long as a theoretical trip around the world's equator would take, that is, about 45 hours. However, the winner is expected to be the one who performs the best and sits out the longest. The rules of the challenge state that participants are not allowed to sleep or have their eyes closed for more than 5 minutes. Those seated will also not be able to smoke or consume alcohol. It is true that participants are allowed to eat and use personal smart devices, and short breaks are also expected.
The challenge will be available live every day Vilnius airport in a Facebook account. The organizers invite you to support the participants on the day of the challenge - visitors will also be able to answer questions about travel and win valuable souvenirs related to aviation and travel. In addition to the main prize, the winner will receive coupons to the Vilnius Airport Business Club, express check-in services, etc.
