July 1 (Monday) on the beach of Lake Balsi, Vilnius residents and city guests will be able to pamper themselves not only with sunbathing, but also learn how to have fun in the water safely, what to do in emergency situations and even learn to swim together with fire rescuers, health specialists and experienced swimming coaches!
Event will start at 14 p.m., on the beach of Lake Balsi, everyone who wants to spend the afternoon meaningfully - to find out and learn something that saves lives.
The 6th team of the Vilnius County Fire Rescue Board will talk about safe behavior in the water and near water bodies, name the lurking dangers, how to help yourself and others if you encounter them.
Vilnius city municipalities specialists from the public health office will show you how to provide first aid. It will also share memos so that useful information is always easy to find when needed.
LVJC swimming coaches will be waiting for parents and children. They will tell you about the responsibilities of parents. After that, don't wait - wade into the water and teach your children to swim! In a practical session, the coaches will show you how to correctly teach the basic elements of swimming. It will also identify common swimming teaching mistakes and how to avoid them.
The event is initiated by the Lithuanian Children and Youth Center (LVJC) in order to draw attention to the increased drowning in the country, to encourage vacationers not to be indifferent - to raise awareness about safe behavior in water and near water bodies.
