On the occasion of the upcoming Mother's Day, the House of Lords invites mothers, fathers and children to participate in a festive educational program. In the activity prepared for this occasion, the exhibition will look for the images of the mothers of the rulers who lived in the Vilnius residence and try to reveal the life stories of the famous duchess hiding behind their veil. In the second part of the session, all participants will be invited to participate in a creative jewelry workshop.
It will be possible to make cameos and use them to make a wonderful piece of jewelry - a brooch or a locket. We know from historical sources that more than one ruler of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania had jewelry decorated with precious stones with cameos. Žygimantas Augustus' mother Bona Sforca and his wife Barbora Radvilaitė had cameos made with their own images.
