The sowing of light - the traditional vernal equinox invites us to welcome spring event
March 20 20 p.m. The Vilnius Ethnic Culture Center invites Vilnius residents and city guests to wake up the earth and welcome spring together in the Šventaragis Valley.
Sowing of Light - this is the name of the traditional spring equinox event this year, where the sounds of bagpipes, the mysterious sound of sutartans will intertwine, and the Baltic signs will shine in Šventaragis valley. They symbolize the returning sun, the earth to turn green, the thunder that awakens it to bloom. Spring flowers will also bloom in six ice sculptures in Šventaragis valley...
As every year, the event will be attended by a large group of enthusiastic schoolchildren from the city of Vilnius, who will make Baltic signs out of candles and light them. During the event, the surtar group of the folklore ensemble "Labingis" (leader Loreta Stoliarovienė) will sing sutra songs.
