February 16 promises to be a day full of joy, and there will certainly be a variety of festive events in the capital. Vilnius Ethnic Culture Center also invites you to celebrate the centenary of the restoration of the state - on this occasion, in the very heart of Vilnius, in the Šventaragis valley, the most meaningful and well-known Lithuanian songs will be performed by Vilnius folklore ensembles.
Šventaragis valley was chosen for this event because of the ten huge "Šventaragis gardens" currently hanging there. According to the idea of this project, which is partially supported by the Lithuanian Council of Culture, each garden is dedicated to a separate decade of the restored state. "Sventaragios sodai" reproduces traditional thatched gardens, which are an exceptional part of folk art. Gardens had a sacred meaning in human consciousness and no major celebration could do without them. Thus, the Vilnius Ethnic Culture Center on February 16 at 15 p.m. symbolically invites you to gather under the gardens that decorate Šventaragis valley.
The name chosen for the event "May Lithuania be forever" is also a wish for Lithuania to be forever. Everyone who wants to celebrate one hundred years of the restoration of the state of Lithuania with a song is invited to listen to the songs and join the group of singers.
