European Museum Night 2025

Lithuania is successfully participating in the European Night of Museums for the 19th time and attracts large crowds of visitors to museums and other cultural institutions.
In Lithuania, the activities of organizing the European Museum Night events are supervised by the Lithuanian National Committee of the International Council of Museums ICOM and the Lithuanian Museums Association. The aim of the campaign is to invite the public to come to museums and get acquainted with the exhibitions and expositions operating there, to participate in educational activities and other events at a time of day when museums are usually not open. During the campaign, efforts are made to present museum collections and services to various groups of visitors in the most compelling way possible, thus encouraging the public to be more interested in the diverse activities of museums and to visit them more often.

Street Music Day 2025

Street Music Day (GMD) is a holiday when in various Lithuanian and foreign cities everyone who can and wants to go out to play in the streets, squares, squares or even in public transport! On that day, the streets of the cities are drowned in the sounds of various music, and the festival audience enjoys the performances created by musicians. It doesn't matter whether you are a professional musician or an amateur; you play metal or sutartines - everyone can participate in the festival!
The festival takes place on the third Saturday of May. The tradition began in 2007, when the author of the idea, musician Andrius Mamontovas, sent an e-mail to his friends and invited them to come out and play on the streets of the capital. Since then, the idea has become so popular that it has become not only a festival that floods the streets of cities all over Lithuania with the sounds of music, but also an international tradition. Musicians perform throughout the day in various places in the city, and later, together with the festival audience, create an improvised percussion procession "Drum2gether".

Eurovision final

On Saturday evening, music fans will be focused on one of the most exciting events of the year – the Eurovision Song Contest final. The show will start at 22 p.m. Lithuanian time, and in Vilnius, it will be possible to watch it not only at home – many cafes, bars and restaurants invite you to gather and experience the emotional music fiesta together on the big screens.

For the third year in a row, the VU Botanical Garden invites you to a "Picnic in the Lilacs"! This year event is dedicated to the International Day of Plant Admiration, celebrated on May 18. Visitors are invited to admire the diversity of lilacs, to take part in excursions and educational and cultural events, and concerts. A fair of herbalists and culinary experts, artisans and artists will be held at the Olive Hill, where as many as 180 species and varieties of lilacs bloom.

On the occasion of Street Music Day, Mood Sellers traditionally invites you to march through Vilnius to the rhythm of New Orleans music!
And New Orleans, because in this city, thanks to the mixture of different cultures, jazz was born, which still lives on the streets to this day, intertwined with the tradition of "second line" processions.
New Baltic Dance 2025

NEW BALTIC DANCE, which will be held in Vilnius until May 18, presents this year's program, which, according to festival director Gintarė Masteikaitė, is the strongest in her entire 9-year tenure at the festival. She invites the audience to evaluate the result of several years of coordinating the highest-level program of works. This year's program will provoke many discussions, and meetings with creators, psychologists and subject experts will be organized.
"In these unstable times, when everything around us is changing faster than we can perceive, the body remains the only tangible way to experience the world. The visual axis and main message of our festival is the beauty and universality of body language, which becomes a bridge between reality, other people and ourselves," says the festival director.
