Valentine's Day celebrated on February 14 It is called the day of lovers or love.
St. Valentine was a bishop of Rome who lived in the XNUMXnd century. The then Roman emperor Claudius II had issued an edict forbidding marriage. He wanted as many men as possible to go to war and defend the empire. The emperor believed that married men were more emotionally attached to their families and therefore could not be good soldiers. Bishop Valentine, seeing the pain of young people, married them secretly. When Claudius II heard about this behavior of the bishop, he arrested him and locked him in prison, where he died on February 14. Valentine was sentenced to death. After some time, Valentine was declared a saint.

LOVE BALLADS
Three of the country's best rock vocalists - Povilas Meškėla, Česlovas Gabalis and Jeronimas Milius - together with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius, are preparing a special program of love ballads on the occasion of Valentine's Day. It is not known who loves more passionately and passionately than rockers, whose hearts that love freedom and sharp sensations are so often melted by the charm and tenderness of women, and their love stories not only become iconic legends, but also inspire the creation of songs that are sung by thousands around the world.
Tonight, everyone's beloved love ballads will sound even more expressive and emotional, as they will be performed by the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius, together with Povilas Meškėla, Česlovus Gabalis and Jeronimas Milius. "In rock music, everything is real, unstressed, sincere," says Povilas Meškėla. - Anyone can stand up and scream. But he dissolves after some time in the crowd of everyone screaming. In order to perform rock well, you need to have inner strength, not only in your voice, but also in your soul. Stubbornness. Here, people do everything from the heart - it is the cry of their soul. This kind of music has been experienced, endured, matured and, most importantly, tested by time." Therefore, when preparing the concert program, we had no doubt that this concert is the best choice for the day of love.
