Last weekend's fifth "Women's Rally" was accompanied by the lucky number 5. Girls Power, a team of five from Alytis, won the overall standings. Their crew number was 51. The girls completed the rally course without penalty minutes. This team won in three more competitions.
The second best result was shown by the Panevėžys team "Auresa" (No. 85). The third - "Autopilotės" from Vilnius (No. 268). Both of these teams occupy the same places in the overall and "More than two members" standings respectively.
For the organizers of the event, the fifth rally will be remembered as another record in the basket of rally achievements. 1444 women, 376 crews rode in the "Women's Rally" this year. Last year there were 1250 participants, 320 crews.
"I would like to thank the entire team that helped this year's really big event to take place smoothly, covering the streets of Vilnius, Birštonas, and the Lithuanian Folk Household Museum. The weather was absolutely wonderful: warm and sunny. The route must have really appealed to the girls, we are already getting good feedback. For the first time in the Women's Rally, intermediate results could be watched online. The participants could see how they were doing, and after the finish we announced the winner very quickly - for us, this is a huge qualitative leap in the organization of the event", said Neringa Simson, one of the organizers of the rally, the head of VšĮ "Idejų grupė".
On the 320-kilometer route, there was no shortage of speed sections, of which there were even 7, and interesting tasks: on the ice of "Acropolis", the participants tried ice skating, rested in Biršton, climbed the observation tower of the Lithuanian Folk Household Museum in Rumšiškės, and solved puzzles.
The biggest and most pleasant surprise awaited at the finish line. Gintara Viduolyta, a member of the Turbo Varnas team, who is riding in the "Women's Rally" for the fifth time, was asked by a friend who came to congratulate her. The happy and excited girl said "Yes". The couple, who have been friends for five years, participate in various slalom competitions together. Gintarė admitted that what she liked most in the "Women's Rally" was the ever-larger number of slaloms. By the way, the couple does not yet know when their wedding will be. "Maybe at the next "Women's Rally", Gintarė said jokingly.
Every year, the selection of the most stylish crew gets the most emotions. This year, this title was won by crew no. 255, titled From Another Planet. The team of four girls, who took part in the Women's Rally for the first time, admitted that they had downloaded the costumes for the event from abroad. During the awards ceremony, the editor-in-chief of L'Officiel Lithuania magazine, Agnė Jagelavičiūtė, emphasized that this year's participants were extremely well prepared for this task.
Just like last year, this year the women received a participant's license, became members of the "Women's Rally" club, and pledged to be road safety ambassadors.
Women from Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Panevėžys, Alytus, Marijampolė, Birštonas, Jurbarkas, Utena, Trakai, Rokiškis, Elektrėnai, Šiauliai, Anykščiai and other towns rode in the event. More than a third of the crews participated in the "Women's Rally" for the first time.
The crews competed in nine classes: Mazda Cup, First-Timer, Historic Cars, Two-Member Crews, Five-Year, Team More than Two Members, Historic Cars, Guest ".
