The MO Museum, located on the site of the former "Lietuva" cinema, continues the film traditions. The movie "Between the Gray Clouds" is being presented already this week.
On October 25, 26 and 28, everyone who buys tickets to the film "Between Gray Clouds" directed by Marius Markevičius will have the opportunity to hear a guided tour. Spectators are invited to take a closer look at one of the sections of the first exhibition "All Art - About Us" - "Great Dramas and Myths".
"We want that MO Museum would be a place for meaningful leisure. We aim to gather a community that would like to spend time meaningfully. Therefore, we are expanding the museum experience and offering a new idea - a special short tour of our exhibition related to the themes covered in the film. This will provide additional movie watching experiences to the visitors of the MO cinema repertoire", he says MO Museum director Milda Ivanauskienė.
The film "Between Gray Clouds" by director M. Markevičius, whose family living in Los Angeles agreed to become MO's patrons, was not chosen by chance. The film moves to Kaunas in 1941. Fifteen-year-old Lina dreams of studying art, vacationing by the sea and going on a date with the guy she likes. On the night of June 14, all these dreams of hers come crashing down, when the Soviet military knocks on the door - Lina, along with her younger brother and mother, are deported to Siberia.
“MO is a great place to screen this film. Lina, the main character of "Between the Gray Clouds", desperately wants to draw and enter art school. I am glad that we can visually connect and experience the synthesis of art and cinema in the museum", adds Andrė Balžekienė, director of the movie theater "Pasaka", which curates the film repertoire of the MO museum.
Young artists, students or creators who are just starting to discover themselves were invited to the advance screening of the film "Between Gray Clouds" at the MO Museum. You can see how they evaluate the proposed concept of the MO Museum and what impressions they got away with in a short video:
Movie screenings at the MO Museum will be held every week from Thursday to Sunday. Films from the cinema's repertoire adapted to the museum space and special film screenings, accompanied by presentations and discussions, await the audience.
