On the occasion of the day of the coronation of the Lithuanian state - King Mindaugas of Lithuania Vilnius University (VU) botanical garden organizes the already traditional summer flower exhibition "Lelija Mindaugos karunai". This is the eighth exhibition of the most impressive collection flowers held in the VU Botanic Garden under the patronage of the President Dalia Grybauskaite. This year, the exhibition will be held on July 5-7.
Here, hundreds of different types and varieties of lilies, daylilies, roses and other plants that delight with their flowers in the summer, collected in the garden sections in Kairėnai and Vingi, will catch your eye. A unique collection of barley mutants, the only one in Europe, will also be exhibited. At the exhibition, visitors will be able to get acquainted with the newest and most interesting flowers currently grown in Lithuania, flower varieties created by Lithuanian breeders, medicinal, spice and aromatic plants. Plants of the Lithuanian flora and cultivated woody plants will also be exhibited during the exhibition. The well-known florist Vaiva Jucytė will demonstrate flower arrangements. Specialists of the botanical garden of VU Šiauliai Academy will also exhibit their plants. That's why we invite all those who love plants - everyone will find something to look at here.
