Congratulating all Lithuanian mothers on the occasion of the upcoming Mother's Day, the National Museum Palace of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 2017. on May 6, Saturday, invites them with minor children to visit for free.
"A gift for mother is a reminder of our mutual ties and warm feelings. And probably the most important thing for every mother is not the value of the gift, but the attention and time given to her by the most beloved people. Therefore, by congratulating all mothers, we aim to create conditions for showing personal attention, care, and spending time together in an interesting and meaningful way", says Dr. Jolanta Karpavičienė.
In the Museum of the Palace of Lords, mothers and accompanying minor children will be able to visit two permanent exhibitions presenting the unique archaeological heritage and reflecting the functions of the historical residence, as well as two international exhibitions introducing the XNUMXth century. woven silk tapestries of Lithuanian hetman Mykolas Kazimieros Oginskis and XNUMXth century The books of Pranciškaus Skorina, a humanist and public figure who lived in Vilnius.
Mother's Day, which is celebrated on the first Sunday of May, is a public holiday, so the Museum of the Palace of the Lords celebrates this day earlier - Saturday, May 6, and the museum will be closed on Sunday, May 7.
The Museum of the Palace of the Lords welcomes visitors every day, it is closed on Mondays and public holidays, except for February 16, March 11 and July 6. The museum is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 18pm, Thursdays from 10am to 20pm and Sundays from 10am to 16pm. Ticket offices close one hour before the end of business hours. During the summer season, the museum plans to extend its working hours and will be open to visitors on all days of the week.
