The Lithuanian National Museum of Art (LNMA) Pomaria Gallery continues the "Migrating Museum" spring event series and invites you to a unique art and culinary event that combines the past and present, the interpretation of nature and ancient fermentation traditions. The second event of the spring season event will be held on Wednesday, April 23, at 18 p.m.
This time, the paintings come to the Pomary Gallery from the exhibition “Landscape Zoomed In. 16th–19th Century Graphics by Western European Masters from the Collections of the National Museum of Art of Lithuania” held at the Pranas Domšaitis Gallery (curated by Jolita Liškevičienė and Ilona Mažeikienė). The original works from the 16th–19th centuries tell the story of the emergence, development, and change in meaning of the landscape genre over the centuries. The exhibits reveal hidden symbolic meanings, manifestations of a scientific view of nature, images of the established canon of nature, and interpretations of the urban landscape. The works, created using the graphic technique, draw attention to this branch of art, its possibilities and diversity.
The art narrative part will be presented by Jonė Gertrūda Koženiauskaitė, an educator at the Pranas Domšaitis Gallery. She will encourage participants to delve into the subtleties of the works, discover new meanings, and see with their own eyes the authentic works of Johann Elios Ridinger, Pietro Parboni, John Bowles, Thomas Bowles, and Jacques-Philippe Le Bas.
The stories told by the mature works of art will go perfectly with the culinary part of the event – kombucha made by young people from Preiliškis, Martyna and Aurimas Stirbias. This ancient drink, whose roots go back centuries, seems to combine the creativity of nature and man: kombucha, like the landscape, reflects our relationship with the environment, the discovery and interpretation of its secrets. The ever-changing taste of this drink tells its own story, and its freshness and health benefits seem to remind us of the natural connection between man and nature, which was equally important to artists of the past. Martyna and Aurimas will serve kombuchas prepared especially for the event, flavored with pine needles, mint, lemon balm and other plants.
LNDM Pomarios Gallery invites you to immerse yourself in this harmony, where authentic works of art from the 23th–18th centuries and tasty interpretations of a traditional drink will meet. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 3, at XNUMX p.m. at LNDM Pomarios Gallery (L. Rėzos g. XNUMX, Neringa, Juodkrantė).
The project is partially funded by Neringa Municipality.
