On May 22 at 18 pm, the Design and Art Gallery "Kalve" will host an exclusive meeting with the world-renowned Australian photographer Ralph Kerle.
"The Indeterminate Sublime" - visual poetry born from water reflections
Ralph Kerle is an award-winning Sydney-based artist whose work balances between reality and abstraction. His photographs are born in an unexpected way – while kayaking, he captures natural reflections on the surface of the water. The images are reminiscent of abstract expressionist masterpieces, especially the spirit of the works of Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock, but are completely untouched by digital editing software.
Ralph Kerle's visual language creates a meditative space between observation and imagination, where nature becomes the author of the painting and the artist its sensitive interpreter.
His work is appreciated not only by the art world - one of his works was commissioned by Louis Vuitton and exhibited in their space in Sydney.
Ralph Kerle's works have been exhibited in exhibitions around the world: Berlin, Dubai, Palm Beach (JAV), in Latvia, in Portugal, and in 2023 his solo exhibition "The Indeterminate Sublime" was presented at the Mark Rothko Art Center in Latvia. The artist invites the viewer to rethink what we consider reality, through the interaction of vision and nature.
An exclusive evening for art lovers
The meeting with the artist will take place at the Design and Art Gallery "Kalve", where representatives of the diplomatic corps, art collectors, the business elite, and the creative community will gather.
