This year, the fifteenth jubilee festival of singing poetry "Tai - aš" will aim to bring different peoples and generations together through music on October 17-21. At the festival organized by the Culture and Education Center "Vilniaus mokytojų namai", listeners will have a great opportunity to enjoy the multicultural sound. It is not for nothing that he will open the festival after becoming traditional concert "Music from the roots", inviting to touch the ethnic culture.
This concert, which will be held on October 19 at 19 p.m. St. During St. Catherine's Church, songwriters and performers will take the stage, who draw fodder for their creativity from their own and other nations' ethnic culture. This is author's music, in which the roots of the old culture are clearly felt.
The biggest stars of the evening should be the composer and country, bluegrass and folk music performer Lilly Drumev from Bulgaria and singer and composer from Northern Ireland Brendan Monaghan, who draws on Irish folk and country musical motifs.
Lilly Drumeva is a Bulgarian singer, songwriter and music producer. She founded and still manages the most famous in 1996 country, bluegrass ir western swing for the collective "Lilly of the West". The group performs a lot in Bulgaria, Europe, JAV, has already visited Lithuania three times and won prestigious awards more than once. Lilly herself has released ten music albums, organizes festivals and other events. She is also a journalist and radio presenter, making programs for the BBC, Balkan Bulgarian Television, Retro Radio, Radio Sofia and other stations. Lilly has an excellent musical background having studied music in Bulgaria and Nashville, TN (USA). Not only that, she wrote the book "In The Mood With Lilly - 50 Music Themes" - a music encyclopedia in Bulgarian. Lilly is also a huge promoter of music, hosting tours for US and European musicians in Bulgaria. The roots of this singer's work are Bulgarian folklore. She sings Bulgarian folk music very well herself and performs it with her band and other musicians.

I have written a number of very sad ballads, such as "Tears roll again", "Don't wanna live anymore". My happy songs are fast-paced and full of joy of life. Brendan Monaghan is a songwriter and performer from Ireland. He performs his own music all over the world and writes songs for other artists. Has released five original albums on Brambus Records. Brendan believes that it is very important to write and perform your own songs. Although he likes to listen to various music, he creates and performs folklore and country music imbued with songs that are born from a great love for these directions. Brendan plays Irish folk music together with various artists of this direction, especially with violinist Neil McClean, who is a very well-known folk artist. They both appeared at the festival "Griežynė" last year. Brendan was the founder and ran it brilliantly for about a decade country for the music group Cattle Company, which has released three albums. Over time, the group's work changed and they became alternative country group name. Country ir folk music has been very instrumental in shaping Brendan's approach as a composer. This is real music from the roots, because country was born from the roots of Celtic music, which Brendan consistently develops in his work.
Belfast journalist, songwriter and performer David Ballantine praises Brendan as one of Ireland's unsung singers who writes music straight from the heart and performs it with electrifying energy and enthusiasm. Many well-known music critics and journalists emphasize Brendan's ability to draw the best from different styles and genres in his work. In addition to writing and performing music, Brendan is also a guitar teacher.
Lithuania will be represented at the memorable concert by one of the sisters of the duo "Laiminguos" - Agota Zdanavičiūtė. The evening will be hosted by composer and performer Algirdas Klova with the instrumental group "Vydraga", Daiva Steponavičienė (Rugiaveidė) with her family, author and performer Ričardas Mikalajūnas and performer of Russian singing poetry and folk songs Jevgenijus Kirjackis.
