Last year, the series of piano recitals organized by the Kristupas Summer Festival, which received great interest from listeners and received warm feedback, will be continued this year as well. They will play not only the most beautiful melodies of Frederic Chopin, but also all the "Hungarian Dances" of Johannes Brahms!
Traditionally, before the concerts, there will be tours organized by "Gatve gyvos", which will introduce you to the impressive transformations of the Bernardin Garden and allow you to look at this green oasis of Vilnius from a completely different angle.
Cycle on August 4. the piano duet of Joris Sodeika and Paulina Dūmanaitė will begin. Pianists will perform Hungarian dances with four hands. The performers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes - they don't know how it will end concert, the highlight of which will be the catchy rhythm and meandering melodies. 21 The "Hungarian dance" for piano was created by the German romantic J. Brahms, who was familiar with Roma music, Hungarian czardashes, verbunkas, was impressed and inspired by folk elements.
August 11 Lukasz Byrdy will invite you to spin to the rhythm of waltzes, dive into virtuoso passages of etudes, experience the seriousness of a ballad, and in the finale dive into a sparkling polonaise in A major. A fan of F. Chopin's music, he has performed in almost all the halls of the Polish Philharmonic, prepared numerous programs dedicated to this romantic composer, and played in spaces related to his biography or name. The pianist is invited to organize performances JAV, Canada, China, Austria, France, Norway, etc. countries, and with his skill and accumulated concert experience since 2018. shares with students of the IJ Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań.
August 18 A meeting with the ambassador of F. Chopin's music in Lithuania, pianist Šviesa Čepliauskaita, is waiting for you in the Bernardine garden. The pianist, who often performs in the birthplace of the great romantic who captivated the world, is described in the Polish press as "one of the most talented students of Professor Barbara Hesse-Bukowska, who receives thunderous applause from the audience after every concert." For the recital, she chose works brought from the ornate mansions to the big concert stage - polonaises, waltzes, mazurkas, nocturnes.
August 25 A student of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, the young pianist Gabrielė Agilė Bajoraitė will play the enchanting melodies of F. Chopin and her great companions - L. van Beethoven and S. Rachmaninov - at the last "Christopher's Picnic". The young pianist has already accumulated a solid creative portfolio, which includes not only laurels from various competitions, special prizes for the best performances of classical and contemporary works, but also performances in Lithuanian and foreign concert halls and festivals.
Piano recitals in the Bernardine Garden are organized together with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, the Polish Institute in Vilnius and Vilnius City Municipality. Entrance to the concerts is free, but tickets must be purchased for the tours "Bernardinė, Sereikiškės, Jaunimos sodo storiši" organized before them.
