Next week, VILNIUS TECH University will host the TechWave festival, open to students of all higher education institutions and Vilnius residents who are looking for entertainment, for five days. Participants will be able to enjoy various activities and game tournaments, meet a famous comedian, have fun all night long, and perform with famous artists. The event organizers promise that it will be a wonderful introduction to summer.
"We, the students, organized this event thinking about what we ourselves would like. Each day will be different, but all of them will be full of action and good mood."
It's worth coming, because not only fun awaits, this festival is an opportunity to be together, take a break from lectures and just have fun. There is a lot of entertainment, so every participant will find something interesting in this event," says one of the event organizers, Danielė Papečkytė.
Old tradition in a new way
"TechWave" is an old tradition revived by the new VILNIUS TECH Student Representative Office after a decade, previously called "Gediminas Days". This generation of the representative office decided to give it a more modern concept, offer more activities, and give it a new name.
"When considering the name, we wanted it to reflect the spirit of our university, but at the same time be modern, inclusive, and recognizable to everyone, so we came up with TechWave."
Wave symbolizes the beginning of summer – the moment when students finish their course and welcome summer, freedom and new experiences. The English name was chosen because we aim to include international students, strengthen the diversity of the community and create an event where everyone would feel like themselves,” says D. Papečkytė.
The VILNIUS TECH Student Representative Council assures that students from other universities and colleges are especially welcome at the festival.
"We aim to promote cooperation between different higher education institutions and we want to create a broader student community. We believe that such events "It brings people closer together, encourages new acquaintances, and enhances experience," says the SA representative.
Five days of fun
The festival will begin on Monday (May 12) with an opening ceremony in the courtyard of VILNIUS TECH. Students will be able to get acquainted with the study areas of the faculties, discover various clubs offered by the university, and various activities will also take place on the campus.
This Monday evening, there will also be a talk "Not about grades" with famous comedian Evaldas Jasaitis. SA assures us that it will be about choices, discoveries and all the things that get lost in the rush and deadlines. No pressure and no test after the event!

Therefore, this competition is a good opportunity to test yourself and experience fun adventures at night.
Wednesday (May 14) will be a great opportunity to get moving not only for sports enthusiasts, but also for fans of the square who simply want to have a good time - there will be exciting matches, and the winners will be awarded prizes.
Those who like to compete will be able to compete for prizes in the CS2 game tournament without getting up from their chairs.
On Thursday (May 15), one of the biggest events at VILNIUS TECH University will take place - "Night to unite", during which various activities, meetings and discussions, sports and computer game competitions, and a disco will be held.
On Friday evening (May 16), the bands "Black Biceps", "jautì" and the artist Orestas will join the fun during the concert, whose music will make your body dance on its own. Fans of gentle and sensitive music will be able to calmly sway to the songs of the band "Mėlyna".
"This is not just a festival. TechWave is the result of our entire year's work and what unites us all. It is a space where we, students, can show our creativity, energy and passion. So we want people who come to feel not only the atmosphere of the event, but also our dedication to what we do," says D. Papečkytė.
