The international singing poetry festival "Tai - aš" is being held for the nineteenth time, this Thursday invites you to the opening of the festival a concert, St. Catherine's Church. The name given to the opening concert "Extraordinary Simplicity" suggests that it will usually be about quite extraordinary things in the form of music and poetry!
At Thursday's exclusive concert of the festival, you will be able to hear the most beautiful lines of Lithuanian poets Paulius Širvis, Vytautas Kernagis, Antanas Miškinis, Elena Karnauskaitė, Judita Vaičiūnaitė, as well as the music of Lithuanian authors well known to everyone or once heard but already forgotten. In this special, autumn-colored concert, lines will be read by actress Gabija Jaraminaitė, actress Lina Rastokaitė will sing, accompanied by pianists Povilas Jaraminas and Vainius Dovydaitis, and the youth choir of Vilnius choral singing school "Liepaitės" led by Edita Jaraminienė will also sing.
As the opening concert of the "Tai - aš" festival is approaching, we also interviewed the actress who will appear there - Gabija Jaraminaitė - about the poetic nature of autumn and the festival itself.
Gabija, what do you associate the festival "This is me" with?
I associate this festival with listening to myself through poetry and music. The festival programs invite you to come to the concerts with the whole family, with parents, children, friends and like-minded groups! And sometimes it's great to visit it alone.
What is sung poetry for you?
Singable poetry is the reading of poetry with a melody. After all, we don't always open poetry books and read them, but here - two in one, we can hear a song and listen to its words.
What is autumn like for you?
Autumn is a very poetic time for me. It's like the beginning of a new year - along with yellowing leaves and flying birds, it's a time to reflect on the ending year, prepare for the coming one, it's a time to summarize and a good time to gather energy and ideas for a new beginning.
What can we expect at the opening concert of the festival - "Extraordinary Simplicity"?
I know for sure that you will hear the verses of wonderful poets! I would be very happy if at least one viewer, after hearing them, thought or felt: "This is about me" or the words of the festival title - "This is me"! The International Singing Poetry Festival, organized by the Vilnius Teachers' Home, will take place in Vilnius until October 24.
