An exclusive duet of groups will sing in the hums of the "Tai - aš" festival!

Coming of age, the 18th International Singing Poetry Festival "Tai - aš" invites you to this year's brightest autumn date. October 17 00:XNUMX p.m. In the courtyard of the Vilnius teachers' house (Summer Terrace), the girls of the group "Graži ir ta galinga - GITG" and the boys of the "Antikvariniai Kašpirovskii dinto - AKD" will meet two different poles of the female and male groups.

We interviewed the members of both groups about the sung poetry, the upcoming event, the musical surprises being prepared for it, the inseparable synergy between women and men, gender equality and differences, conflicts and the accompanying transformations and creative reincarnations of both men and women.

How important is sung poetry and poetry in general in your band's creative life?

Ieva Pakštytė (GITG): We are actresses, and singing actors very often become bards and much less often choose to travel a different musical path. However, in our musical activities we remain quite far from bardic culture, at least it seems so to us. In my opinion, one of the essential drivers of singing poetry is the unconditional sincerity of the author in performing the song, while when we sing, we try to distance ourselves and at least a little bit closer to the character whose song we are performing. There is a lot of sincerity, but it is a little different than in the music of the bards - a bit more playful, more theatrical, more ironic, more emotional.

Karolis Steponavičius (AKD): Poetry is beautiful to me.

What is sung poetry for you personally today, how would you describe it, maybe there are artists who still inspire, awaken or encourage protest?

Ieva Pakštytė (GITG): Although we don't consider ourselves bards, sung poetry has had a great musical and cultural influence on most of us. Since we already had to participate in several bard festivals this summer, we finally discussed in depth the relationship of each of them to this music: we shared the songs that best helped when crying over the misfortunes of our adolescence, we joked that we are probably much older in our hearts than in our passports - after all, we listen to them with love and nostalgia singing poetry even now.

I can't speak for everyone, but even though today I don't listen to this music often, there are times when I feel the need for it: when I need peace, comfort and time for myself - then bards' music suits me very well.

Karolis Steponavičius: One of my favorite poets is Juozapas Vytautas Baužys (vocalist and trumpeter of the AKD group, author's note). This author's poems have been translated into Spanish, Russian. JV Baužys sings some of them while accompanying himself on the guitar and everyone hears that it is beautiful.

What kind of bardic music would it have to be for people to rediscover it?

Ieva Pakštytė (GITG): Bardic music will live on if there are sincere voices representing their generation. We discovered this music in our teens, when it was especially important to have ideals that seemed to speak to your thoughts, play to your senses. If now young listeners are curious, and bards are open and available not only in big cities and festivals, I think the mutual relationship will develop and live.

I would like young people to discover bard music, and at the same time poetry. They won't necessarily listen to this music all their lives, but they will always happily return to it, just as we return to listen to the songs that have become the soundtracks of our naive and perhaps turbulent experiences.

Karolis Steponavičius (AKD): Only a person could help the genre of singing poetry to change. A person can do a lot if he wants to.

What good/bad/unexpected/secret/maybe interesting thing could you say about your stage partners Antique Kashpirovski teeth men or their band?

Marija Žemaitytė (GITG): AKD member Martynas is well known to us, from the time when we all studied acting Klaipėda at V. Masalski's, only he was in the senior year. That's why we've stood on stage more than once and sung more than one song together. Meeting Martyn is always good and nostalgic, and to do it on stage and sing together again... We can't wait!

We cannot say much about other AKD men. We heard that Valančiūnas plays there, but we will be able to tell if it is true only after the concert, after seeing him up close :).

Once upon a time, our composition was like AKD, but now there are five of us. So if these groups ever had to participate in a dance competition, one of the AKD members would be left without a pair.

ACD men: smiled charmingly and promised to reveal all the secrets on the day of the concert...

How would the characters you create on stage - Barbora Radvilaitė, Bona Sforza, Žemaitė, etc. - look at AKD men?

Vaiva Kvedaravičiūtė (GITG): I think that, for example, Teklė-Tads would boldly join the Kašpirovskii team - a great cover for an unidentified woman to remain in the company of men with the opportunity to have a good time. Perhaps Barbora would politely listen to the entire repertoire of the Kashpirovskys, thank them for the evening, but without looking back she would hurriedly return to the art of her palace, thanking God that the classics still exist. I don't even doubt that Žemaitė, caught by their energy, would get on stage together and loudly sing "Mažule mažule mažule...." and kiss everyone in admiration, as sweetly as grandmothers do. Melninkaitė would probably look at the names of the songs with a cold look and at the sixth "Ginekologas Vasia" or "Ką tu valgai, mieloji" she would say in the same cold tone - "thank you, but not to me, men". And maybe we can ask Dalia Grybauskaitė live?

What can people from your group expect to go crazy with you and the music of the AKD festival "Tai - aš" on October 18. 17:00 p.m. On the summer terrace? And what are you personally waiting for?

Martynas Enčius (AKD): I think there will be an interesting collaboration of opposite poles. Because after all, seaside girls and capital boys are like melody and rhythm. Bread and butter. Car and garage…

Karolis Steponavičius (AKD): Viewers expect us to meet their expectations, and we expect them to be exceeded.

At the festival "It's me" (GITG) hopes to meet as many spectators as possible who will want to listen to the girls of the group and their stories about the various Lithuanian women who lived in different periods of Lithuania. We also hope to bring some fresh seaside air to the festival, so that the audience can hear not only our compositions, but also well-known and beloved bardic songs. We are sure that you will have a great party with Antique Kashpirovsky Teeth. In other words, the courtyard of the Vilnius teachers' house (Summer terrace) will accommodate a group of fun and cheerful artists.

The public meeting of the groups "Graži ir ta galinga" and "Antikvariniai Kašpirovskis dantys" will take place in 2020. October 18 17:00 p.m. In the courtyard of the Vilnius teachers' house (on the summer terrace). Tickets are distributed by bilietai.lt (https://www.bilietai.lt/lit/events/xviii-international-singing-poetry-festival-this-as-72303/).
