October 18 an extraordinary event will be held at the current music festival "Gaida". concert, dedicated to the legendary JAV for the 50th anniversary of the Apollo spacecraft's lunar missions. For the first time in Lithuania, cult music producer and composer Brian Eno's work "Apollo" will be performed live by the British group "Icebreaker", which brings a whole bunch of famous artists - in Vilnius, they will play together with the legendary rock guitarist BJ Cole (steel guitar). This one event will present a whole series and other interesting things: the band "Icebreaker" will present both the brightest works of the young British star Anna Meredith and the music of this year's retired alternative rock star Scott Walker. An extraordinary world premiere will also take place at this "Gaida" festival concert. European Space Agency (ESA) - Commissioned by the European Space Agency, Kate Moore, a famous Australian composer living in the Netherlands, created a new piece "Magenta Magnetic" for this project, which will be played for the first time in Vilnius. The creator herself, Kate Moore, and one of the heads of ESA, are going to visit the concert. Professor Mark McCaughrean.
For the first time in human history, a man stepped on the moon in 1969, the first steps on the moon were taken 50 years ago by US astronaut Neil Armstrong. In 1983, Brian Eno created the Apollo album dedicated to this mission, which later became one of his most famous discs. The music was created for Al Reinert's documentary of the same name, later renamed "For All Mankind", which appeared on screens in 1989.
October 18 at the concert, this film will be shown together with the music of Apollo, so the audience will have the opportunity to see exclusive historical footage from the mission to the moon carried out 50 years ago and the first steps of mankind on it. With B. Eno's music playing live at the concert, these unique shots allow the audience to experience not only unforgettable impressions, but also cause an incredibly strong emotional experience, which could probably be caused by any other work of a separate art field or music alone.

For the performance of Brian Eno's "Apollo", the group "Icebreaker" invited the legendary rock guitarist BJ Cole (Brian Cole), about whom Sting has a legend: "BJ Cole is the best pedal steel guitar player in the world." And really, whether in collaboration with the famous British electronic music group The Orb, whether reinterpreting the works of Brian Eno and Roy Orbison, or supporting the folk style of Martin Simpson, BJ Cole continues to prove himself as the main visionary of the pedal steel guitar in the UK.
BJ Cole's unique pedal steel guitar sound was first heard in the early 1970s when he contributed to Elton John's classic "Tiny Dancers" and Joan Armatrading's single "Down To Zero". Later, until the 9s, BJ Cole gained respect as an innovative and highly creative artist, contributing to the famous records of Marc Bolan, Scott Walker, The Stranglers, Deacon Blue, Paul Young. In the last decade of the XNUMXth century, BJ Cole ventured into creative explorations and musical "territories" where he collaborated with Depeche Mode, REM, Sting (together on the albums Mercury Falling, Brand New Day", "All This Time"), Björk ("Post"), Robbie Williams ("Eternity"), Martin Simpson, Tom Jones and others.
BJ Cole developed his own individual sound and performance style, which he realized on the albums Transparent Music (1989), Heart Of The Moment (1995), Stop The Panic (with Luke Vibert, 2000), Trouble In Paradise ( 2004), Into The Blue (with cellist Emily Burridge, 2006) and Lush Life (with vibraphone virtuoso Roger Beaujolais and bassist Simon Thorpe, 2009). After these recordings, the famous guitarist received orders to write music for films and television. BJ Cole first appeared with Icebreaker in 2012 on a live version of Brian Eno's Apollo album.
The already mentioned other intrigue of this concert is the world premiere of the work "Magenta Magnetic" (2019) by the famous Australian composer Kate Moore, who lives in the Netherlands. According to Kate Moore: "The work was inspired by the representative of the European Space Agency and Technology Center, Prof. Mark McCaughrean's engrossing account, which I listened to while visiting the European Space Agency premises. We were told about the projects going on here, near the city of The Hague. I was just blown away by the enormity of what I was seeing. I have visited a room where an anti-gravity field has been created, I have seen a room where the lights are as bright as the sun, I have been to a wall with speakers whose sound force can even reach a dangerous destructive limit…”
