Kristupas is a derivative of the name Kristoforas. St. Kristoforas is the patron saint of travelers and the city of Vilnius. That is why the essence of the Kristupas summer festival is already encoded in the name - a broad (both geographically and in terms of genres and styles) musical panorama and belonging to Vilnius.
Since the first days of its existence in 1995, the festival aims to open up the capital's spaces and present music created in various parts of the world, rooted in different cultures, arising from unique experiences. Therefore, in the events held every year in July-August, classical traditions meet innovations, young talents meet experience, locality meets internationality. These intersections form a music space friendly to the connoisseur, the amateur, the curious seeker.
This year's Kristupas Summer Festival will take place from July 11 to September 20. Part of the events - "Kristupos picnics" will be held in the Bernardin garden. On July 11-15, you will be able to listen to the sounds of piano, accordion, clarinet, guitar at free concerts, F. Chopin, F. Liszt, C. Debussy, M. Ravel, MK Čiurlionios, Z. Bružaitė, J.
