MO Museum presents a summer program to Vilnius residents and city guests - invites them to participate in events in the open outdoor spaces of the museum. Most of the events will take place in the MO sculpture garden and terrace, so they will be freely accessible to the public. Poetry evenings, picnics, exercises, open meetings of the gardening community will be held here.

Opening of the summer program

MO Museum the program of summer events will be presented during this month's "MO Friday" - May 31. from 18 p.m. That evening, the MO Museum invites you to a conversation with the author of one of the works in the MO sculpture garden - Petar Mazūr. After the meeting with the artist, visitors will be able to enjoy a concert by the Čiurlionis Quartet, and the evening program will end with the public presentation of Severija Inčirauskaitė-Kriaunevičienė's new sculpture "Water Lilies".

"We are constantly creating the museum - it is a never-ending process. We want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to get involved in this creation and together embark on a journey of getting to know art, a friend and yourself. And it can take place both in the exhibition halls of the MO Museum and in the open air - in the MO garden. Therefore, in the summer, we invite visitors to come to MO and participate in talks and various activities on MO's terrace or sculpture garden. We believe that this new urban space, which is already popular, will also become a new center of attraction and a place for leisure", says Milda Ivanauskienė, director of the MO Museum.

That evening, visitors will be presented with an e-guide to the MO Museum's open-air exhibition - the MO Sculpture Garden. And it contains the most prominent works of Lithuanian sculptors: Ksenija Jaroševaitė's work "Psalm 23", Vladas Urbanavičius' "Kuoka", Mindaugas Navakas' "Four Big Independents" and Petros Mazūrs' sculpture "NR", created especially for the MO Museum.

New outdoor activities

Every visitor will find events and activities in the MO Museum in the summer. Here it will be possible to start the morning briskly and spend the evening meaningfully.

"We will organize morning exercises on the MO terrace, there will be poetry reading evenings, and we also invite visitors to a new initiative - a picnic in the MO sculpture garden", M. Ivanauskienė names the summer activities in the open spaces of the MO museum.

For those who want to know how the MO sculpture garden was created, where the inspiration came from and how the plants in the MO garden were selected, the museum invites you to talks and discussions with representatives of the Yellow Wheelbarrow. These meetings will also discuss how to take care of plants or how to create a lovely garden yourself.

In the summer, the museum will also continue the conversation series "Between Cultures", which focuses on new phenomena, discoveries, acquaintances and unofficial friends and ambassadors of Lithuanian culture. In June, the renewed, fifth season of Vilnius Talking Sculptures will be opened.

Summer camps for children

In the summer, the MO Museum invites children to art and science camps. Already from July 8 art camps for children aged 5-9 organized by the MO Museum together with the "Pradžia" theater will begin. And from July 22 the museum welcomes children aged 10-13, who are invited to the art and science camp "MeMo", organized with the "History Center".

"We want to involve young art connoisseurs in the knowledge of art and creative discoveries in the museum. We believe that if children are introduced to art in its various forms and include the museum in their daily activities from an early age, children will grow up open and will be able to better understand and know both themselves and their environment", adds the Director of the MO Museum.

MO Museum summer activities will be presented during "MO Friday" - May 31. Event open to all.
