UNO Parks, a family of adventure parks in the trees in Vilnius, Beautiful, in Druskininkai and Šiauliai, which has built more than 40 parks around the world, begins cooperation with the industry leader in autism and other sensory disorders training - "International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards" (IBCCES).
The purpose of the cooperation is to certify adventure parks and provide entertainment for people with autism or other sensory disorders.
For nearly 20 years, IBCCES has been a leader in autism training for healthcare, education and business professionals worldwide. IBCCES recognized that many people with cognitive disabilities have limited opportunities to travel and enjoy leisure activities. The organization has found ways to meet the needs of people with autism and other sensory disabilities and has developed research-based, customized training and certification programs.
The first park certification process in Lithuania has been started at the "UNO Park Vilnius" adventure park. This popular entertainment place for Vilnius residents and guests of the city joins the international group of amusement parks, hotels and attractions "Certified Autism Center (CAC)". UNO Park will become the first park in Europe certified by the IBCCES organization, where people with autism or other sensory disorders will be guaranteed a service that meets their needs.
The purpose of the "CAC" certification is to strive to properly serve people with autism syndrome, to understand their sensory abilities. This mark is awarded only to those organizations whose personnel complete special training. The location of the service is also evaluated.
"Autism diagnoses are increasing every year, and it is difficult for parents of children with this syndrome to find places that know the needs of children, dietary restrictions. We often have to solve the challenges of ensuring security, so we see the importance of knowledge and practice in order to provide quality service to children with special needs and their families", said Deimantė Tarvydienė, Deputy Business Development Director of UNO Parks in Lithuania.
According to UNO Parks employees, the acquired certificate will ensure a higher level of service quality and a deeper understanding of the special needs of customers. This allows staff to feel more confident in serving park visitors and their families with autism or other sensory disabilities.
“Partnering with UNO Parks is an exciting step in increasing the range of certified places for people with autism around the world. We're proud to partner with companies like UNO parks that are committed to making services accessible to all," said IBCCES Board Chair Myron Pincomb.
