At the end of November, the first film of this kind - created by the people themselves - "Once Upon a Time in Vilnius" (English "Once Upon a Time in Vilnius"), intended to give meaning to the 700th anniversary of Vilnius, will be released. The film is unique in that it involved everyone in the creative process - residents, guests of the capital, tourists and a professional team of film masters. You can still become a co-author of the film.
As the producer of the film "Once in Vilnius" Živilė Diavara says, all you need to do is to download the free application "Once in Vilnius" to your mobile phone and share your photos or video images of Vilnius there.
"Broadcast the moments of your life or visit to Vilnius, share everyday life and household, weekend adventures, moments of city events, unique discoveries and surprising experiences. Show what Vilnius is to you, how you see it, what Vilnius you need, what your favorite places in this city are, what exactly our capital is about for you. The important thing is that you can capture and share not only what you are doing and experiencing right now. Dig through the archive of your phone's gallery - you can confidently upload your previously captured treasure to the app in photo and video format," invites Ž. Diavara.
According to Z. Diavaras, we are waiting for the most diverse - cheerful, "crazy", nostalgic - images and material capturing culinary discoveries in Vilnius, city animals, fashionable and stylish citizens, adventures of the night life of the capital, illustrations of the newly started school year, movement and action in the city districts.
"Perhaps you play football in your spare time, explore the streets of the old town while walking, shop at the Kalvarii Market on weekends, like to film Vilnius from the windows of a moving car, or maybe you have moments of night dancing in city clubs?" Share it - we are waiting for the most colorful moments that show the different faces of the city. Even the view you see every day from the windows of your house is suitable - it doesn't matter which district you live in," says Ž. Diavara.
The recordings uploaded by people claim to be part of the feature film "Once Upon a Time in Vilnius" that will be released at the end of the year. Already in October, a professional team of directors will select the recordings from all the material uploaded to the app, which will be used in the editing of a professional feature-length film.
"Once in Vilnius" will consist of seven ten-minute episodes. Each of them, in order to reveal the different faces of Vilnius and its colorful identity, will be shown through the eyes of a different character, a resident of Vilnius.
The directors of the film are Lina Lužytė and Elvina Nevardauskaitė, the editing director is Ričardas Matačius, the music composer for the film is Viktoras Diavara, the music is also composed by Adas Gecevičius and Kamilė Gudmonaitė, a member of the band "Kamanių šilelis".
The premiere of "Once in Vilnius" will take place at the end of this year. After the premiere, the film will be available in cinemas and online platforms available to everyone.
The free app "Once in Vilnius" can be downloaded to your smartphone from Google Play (https://bit.ly/googleplay_OnceInVilnius) and the App Store (https://apple.co/3N6DtP6) of electronic stores.
