BBC television, preparing a documentary report about Lithuania, wanted to hear the position of the legendary rock band BIX. The leader of the group, Saulius Urbonavičius-Samas, became the only representative of the country's show world, who expressed his opinion about life in Lithuania and the latest alcohol bans to the world's largest broadcaster.
"We talked about BIX, rock and roll and alcohol. They were interested in how I, playing rock and roll for so many years, did not drink alcohol", says S. Urbonavičius-Samas.
The group's leader reveals that he stuck to his repeatedly stated position when speaking to a BBC journalist.
"I said that I don't believe in prohibition policy. I believe in culture, education, I believe in real examples. I think that I am one such example. For 12 years, I have been showing that it is possible to live as well as possible without getting dizzy. This is my position. Freedom is our core value. I stand against freedom of choice. If we lose that, we'll go back to the regime, the Soviet bastards - I hate it," the BIX leader says.
The BIX group is no stranger to the attention of the world's major media outlets. Members of the group have previously given several interviews and JAV, for German media giants.
"It's nice to know that they remember us. This is a great appreciation for us", says S. Urbonavičius-Samas and he is happy that BIX was once again appreciated by BBC journalists as a group with a long and deep history, its position, whose voice is significant not only when it comes to music, but and social issues.
The sharp position of BIX will be heard on the stage already on November 16. In Vilnius "Siemens" arena, where the only anniversary show #XXX will take place. The group does not hide that concert, to celebrate their thirtieth anniversary, will be the most important show in the entire history of the band and promises to ignite a sizzling rock 'n' roll sauna in the arena.
