Vilnius University (VU) museum opens St. John's Church bell tower for the summer season. From now until October 31 it will be available to visit daily from 10.00:19.00 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
"We are very happy to reopen St. John's bell tower for visitors. Last weekend, the first participants of the Museum Night could visit the belfry. They were welcomed not only by renovated spaces, but also by guides who told them about the history of the building and the preserved exhibits. From Wednesday, we invite everyone to go up to the belfry observation deck and, of course, not to miss the opportunity to look around the museum's collection", invites VU museum director Monika Ramonaitė.
University of St. The bell tower of St. John's Church is the tallest (68 m) building in the Old Town of Vilnius. 60 authentic wooden steps lead to the belfry observation deck, located at a height of 193 meters. If you go up these steps or take a modern elevator, you can admire the impressive old town panorama.
Baroque St. The bell tower of John's Church was built 400 years ago. It has five furnished floors. On the second floor, you can see the only working Foucault's pendulum in the Baltic States, which demonstrates the fact that the Earth rotates around its axis.
Visit VU Museum St. John's Church bell tower is available both individually and in groups. Groups of visitors require advance registration. Ticket price - 5 EUR, for students, schoolchildren and pensioners - 3 EUR.
