September 14, 15 The first premiere of this season will take place in the Atelier Hall of the Vilnius theater "Lėlė" - a performance of puppets and objects for children "There is no WI-FI in the village". In the play directed by Šarūnas Datenis based on the book "Closet Stories" by Danguolė Kandrotienė, the history of one family (and at the same time all of us) and the topics of today's consumerism will be touched upon through the witty conversations of objects, through their discussions and stormy disputes.
The director of the show, Šarūnas Datenis, took up the topic of consumerism for the second time: this problem was of great concern to the director last season as well, when staging a play based on Carl Collodi's fairy tale "Pinokis": "I don't think that I will change anything with these plays. That wheel of consumption is too twisted. Me and myself, after my phone starts to slow down in a couple of years, I just buy a new one... This time I want to remind you that you can use unnecessary things again in a different way." - says the director, emphasizing the importance of communication in the family: "In our play, things start talking and telling the girl their stories - they interest her and become friends with her. This is actually a parent's job. Parents should show their children old houses and things and tell them about them."

"There is no WI-FI in the village" - a witty, magical story, in the course of which we see a child's attitude towards the world around him changing: "What can happen to a modern child if he is left in the village without the Internet?" What kind of world can open up and what can be told? Is family history really just boring?" asks the playwright, the author of the play's staging Teklė Kavtaradzė (who collaborated with Š. Dateni last year in creating the play "Pinokis") and reveals part of the plot of this work: "There is no WI-FI in the village" - story about 9-year-old Ona, who enters the fantastic world of living things, who tell unheard stories of family members and draw new and unexpected portraits of family members for the girl."
By the way, literary connoisseurs should be warned that the primary source of inspiration for the play is Danguolė Kandrotienė's book, published in 2013. which won the title of the best book of the year for children and teenagers, has changed dramatically: the plot of the book, its ideas and even the characters themselves - still talking things - have changed dramatically in an attempt to adapt the literary, albeit by design very puppet content, to the theater. "For me, this story is a fantasy game, talking about things. Thinking - what would they say if they could talk? What would you say? And do things really become unnecessary? The heart of this performance is the theme of the importance of knowing the family. We are all part of one common story. I believe that the better we know her, the better we know ourselves," says the playwright.

"There is no WI-FI in the village", as well as his other performances, Š. Datenis created with his constant companions - painter Antanus Dubra and composer Vytautas Leistrums. According to V. Leistrums, who created the music for the performance: "In this performance, as always, the most important thing for me is that the music should help the action of the performance, and also draw attention to the thoughts and circumstances that the director and I want to emphasize. It was a lot of fun to work on this performance, because Šarūn and I allowed ourselves (as is usually the case) to have a lot of humor in the music - we created songs, made fun of and satirized popular genres. After all, characters are things, and in the world of things everything sounds a little different."
The main role of the 9-year-old girl Ona, who represents the modern young generation, is played by Indrė Storpirštienė. Actors Imantas Precas, Karolis Algimantas Butvidas, Irmantas Jankaitis, Lijana Mushtashvili control and talk to the talking objects. The lighting artist of the performance is Vytautas Novickas, the author of the video projections is Tomas Jokūbonis, the choreographer is Sigita Mikalauskaitė.
