We already know, its October 25-28. Vilnius City Opera's "Onegin" performances will delight the returning duo of Edgars Montvid and Laimons Pautienias and the debut of Edgars Davidovičius, but it was only recently confirmed who will take on the role of the fateful Tatiana. Ekaterina Sherbachenko, the soprano of the Moscow Bolshoi Theater, is coming to Vilnius to perform this part, who, together with Edgar Montvid, played the role of Tatiana at Glyndebourne, one of the world's most important opera festivals. She will exchange with a colleague who recently lived in Switzerland - Svetlana Aksenova, whose baggage is no less impressive.
"You are probably wondering why we confirm foreign soloists only in the last days before the performances. Here it's like in roulette or poker - the colder your nerves are, the longer you wait, the bigger the prize you can win, in this case it's a singer of high professional class. The kind that you would not have even dreamed of 6 months before the performances. Paying a salary several times lower than in Europe, we have no chance to compete financially with other theaters, but if soloists see that they are free a week before, without any contract, they often think: "Why not?". We maintain very close relations with a couple of the strongest agencies in the world of opera, such as "Zemsky/Green artists" in New York, who help us, and thanks to the Lithuanian soloists who sing with us, we maintain a reputation for high performance quality.", director Dalia Ibelhauptaitė shares the nuances and secrets of selecting soloists. , already convinced during the first joint rehearsals of "Onegin" that the visiting performers will not only confirm, but also surpass their well-earned reputation.
Sherbachenko is called one of the most talented lyric sopranos of her generation and is currently a member of the troupe of the Bolshoi Opera Theater in Moscow. In 2009, she was awarded the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Award. The soloist's baggage includes the most famous roles, such as Mimi ("Bohemia"), Mikaela ("Karmen"), Natasha Rostova ("War and Peace"), Liu ("Turandot") and, of course, Tatiana ("Eugene Onegin").
The soloist, already highly rated by many, has appeared in such theaters as the Paris Opera, La Scala in Milan, the Royal Covent Garden Theatre, the Lyon Opera, the Monte Carlo Opera, the Madrid Opera House and the famous Metropolitan (New York).

Aksenova gained international recognition for her roles as Lisa in The Queen of Spades, Chi Chi San's opera Madam Butterfly and the main role in Rusalka. These roles have already taken the soloist to the stages of Paris, Berlin, the national operas of Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands. It was the role of Tatiana that brought her to her debut JAV Dallas Opera, Sao Paulo Theater in Brazil, and soon it will take it to Canada - Vancouver Opera House. The soloist, who travels a lot, has accumulated a considerable baggage of opera and concert performances, collaborated with the most prominent masters in her field, including: D. Cherniakovas, Ch.
