Michelin presents the second edition of the MICHELIN Guide for Lithuania. MICHELIN Guide inspectors have been traveling around the country all year looking for the best restaurants. In total, the MICHELIN Guide recommends 37 restaurants in Lithuania – four new restaurants distinguished with the MICHELIN Bib Gourmand rating for excellent quality and good value for money, and two restaurants earned the MICHELIN Green Star for being an example of more conscious gastronomy.

“Lithuania is a very progressive country, and we are pleased to see that since the first MICHELIN Guide for Lithuania was launched last year, the country’s gastronomic scene has continued to develop and expand – both with the improvement of existing restaurants and the emergence of a variety of new ones. Lithuanians are justifiably proud of their culinary traditions, which continue to live on in eateries across the country, and this is particularly reflected in this year’s new Green Star awarded to a restaurant that draws on the heritage of its location – both in terms of the building in which it is located and the dishes it serves,” says Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guides.

According to him, this year's selection also shows that Lithuania offers excellent value for money, attracting both locals and guests from abroad. The awarding of four new Bib Gourmand awards, which has doubled the number compared to last year, once again proves that this is a country that is accessible and open to all.

Four restaurants awarded one MICHELIN star each

MICHELIN stars are awarded to restaurants whose cuisine stands out for its exceptional craftsmanship, based on five universal criteria: the quality of the ingredients, the harmony of flavors, the mastery of technique, the expression of the chef's personality through the cuisine he creates and, last but not least, consistency - both across the menu and over time. All four restaurants that received one MICHELIN star in the first edition of the Guide retained their rating this year.

Located in Vilnius Demo – is a unique concept that operates as a café during the day and transforms into a restaurant during the week. Its monochrome interior reflects the style of the cuisine – bold and subtle at the same time. Chef and owner Tadas Eidukevičius is mature in his approach and creativity, able to look at ingredients and food differently than most. He offers two inventive tasting menus, in which each dish is a delight.

The demo also earned a MICHELIN Green Star – read more about that below.

Joy located in an elegant historical building in the very heart of Vilnius. Restaurant is divided into several modern, industrial-style dining rooms spread throughout the building. It serves simple, minimalist dishes that highlight the flavors of the main ingredients, creating a uniquely memorable experience. Guests can choose from a tasting menu or create their own dinner from à la carte dishes based on shared plates.

Vilnius in the old town there is a cozy courtyard with shops and catering establishments - everything belongs to the same team. The brilliance of this ensemble - Nineteen18, an industrial-style restaurant with a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere. Their farm plays a vital role in the supply chain, and the pride in using home-grown ingredients is evident in every bite. The menu consists of around 10 dishes that flow seamlessly together.

Also located in Vilnius With us – a name that loosely translates to "at our house" and perfectly reflects the restaurant essence. This is a truly special place, run by chef and owner Vita Bartininkaitė and her wonderful team. There is real passion and energy here - the entire team strives to make every guest's experience incredibly pleasant. The menu is a seasonal surprise. Vita often visits her mother's garden, picks wild plants herself, and from these delicacies creative, harmoniously merging dishes are born.

MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Award for Eight Restaurants

The name Bib Gourmand comes from the official Michelin man's name, Bibendum. This award is given to restaurants that offer excellent quality food at an affordable price.

In 2025, four restaurants were awarded the Bib Gourmand award for the first time:

One of the Momo Grill and Monai family members – Augustin – is an elegant, minimalist venue where vintage dressers piled high with wine bottles stand beneath striking chandeliers decorated with fake candles. The relaxed atmosphere is matched by bright, colorful dishes that blend Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors. The menu is offered in two formats: most dishes are modern, plant-based small plates (three for each guest plus dessert is a great option), but there are also three main courses, the basis of which is – fish or meat. The MICHELIN Guide inspectors particularly highlighted the turnip with crayfish tails, dan dan sauce, coriander and hazelnuts, which were tasted on the cozy courtyard terrace.

Augustin also earned a special MICHELIN award – see more information below.

Located in Vilnius B'ARN Bistro – is a very small but very cozy space where guests feel like they are having dinner at an old friend’s house. The name symbolizes the place where the chef’s culinary journey began – a small vegetable garden in his grandmother’s garden – and at the same time is a reference to the chef himself: “by Arnas”. The chef’s cuisine is very personal, inspired by his travels in Japan, Thailand, Mexico and the Levant. Bold, colorful dishes are meant to be shared with the whole table, and spicy seasonings add even more flavor. The MICHELIN Guide inspectors particularly distinguished the dorado crudo with green curry and the pork tostadas with pineapple salsa.

B'ARN Bistro also earned a special MICHELIN award - see more information below.

Although The Black Cat is located in Vilnius, as soon as you step inside you feel like you are in Mexico - sombreros hang over your head, and colorful Mexican motifs surround you, creating a lively atmosphere. The chef is Lithuanian, but he knows exactly where to find the right ingredients and how to process them to create authentic and pleasant flavors. The prices are as friendly as the welcoming team, making it an ideal place for a fun evening with friends - the dishes here are made for sharing. The MICHELIN Guide inspectors especially liked the beef tongue strips, the smoky dorada "al pastor" and the crispy, golden churros.

Meanwhile Christopher is located in the Vilnius Town Hall itself – an impressive building, which is considered one of the most striking examples of classicist architecture in Lithuania. On the first floor there is a stylish and elegant restaurant with a blue frescoed ceiling vault. The cuisine is also classic, combining elements of French and Italian cuisine. The flavors are rich, but executed delicately. The MICHELIN Guide inspectors were particularly impressed by the fish stew served as a clear consommé, the venison in the style of “Rossini tournedos” and the unexpected but delightful dessert with chocolate and boletus. Considering the location, the prices are very reasonable – especially for the business lunch menu.

These new restaurants join the previously awarded Bib Gourmand restaurants, all of which have retained their awards for 2025. They are:

14 Horses A sister location to the one-MICHELIN-starred Nineteen18 and the MICHELIN Green-starred Red Brick restaurants in Vilnius, it features an elegant, minimalist interior and a relaxed atmosphere. Bold, bright flavors are presented in original combinations, and the menu is flexible.

Gaspar's – a cozy neighborhood restaurant in Vilnius, located between the Old Town and the New Town. Chef Gaspar Fernandes was born in Goa, India, but has Portuguese roots, so his generous cuisine is an intriguing combination of the flavors of these two countries.

Le Travi in Vilnius – a true locals’ favorite place for a fun night out. Born in Genoa, Mattia has created an authentic Italian osteria, located in two rooms, offering “nonna” style cuisine with pure Italian character.

Nüman Beautiful – a friendly, historic bistro a little further from the city center. The style is subtle and cozy, and the dishes are modern, flavourful and creatively prepared.

Two restaurants added to the main list of the MICHELIN Guide

Inclusion in the MICHELIN Guide is a mark of quality in itself. This year, the main selection list includes 25 restaurants whose exceptional cuisine has impressed the MICHELIN inspectors, including two new venues.

Alba Bistro, located Klaipėda, on the corner of the Grand Theatre Square, is a truly welcoming Italian restaurant. Brightly colored ceramics and colorful paintings against the white walls create the atmosphere of a seaside osteria, as if you were on the Amalfi Coast. Although the chef is Lithuanian, his cuisine is authentically Italian: dishes are prepared with care, generous portions and perfectly balanced flavors. MICHELIN Guide inspectors especially liked the Neapolitan-style pizzas, the rolled snow crab ravioli with beurre blanc sauce and the osso bucco with Milanese risotto and gremolata.

A luxury restaurant joins the ranks of Vilnius restaurants MOTIF, located near Town Hall Square. Velvet chairs, live electronic music and an energetic atmosphere attract a stylish crowd – one that is not afraid of close tables and elbows from neighbors. Here, the highest quality ingredients are presented in modern Japanese dishes with subtle touches of global cuisine – from Italian to Latin American. Favorites of the MICHELIN inspectors: sushi and tataki with house seasonings, black cod with yuzu miso and beef strip steak with chimichurri.

Two restaurants awarded with MICHELIN Green Star

The MICHELIN Green Star is awarded to restaurants that are leaders in sustainability – offering not only an exceptional culinary experience but also actively reducing their environmental impact. Such restaurants inspire not only food enthusiasts but the entire hospitality sector.

One MICHELIN star Demo Vilnius was awarded the MICHELIN Green Star for the first time in 2025.

From the very beginning, the old building that houses the restaurant was renovated with the idea of conservation and sustainability in mind. Once a microchip factory for military components, it is now a cozy, consciously operated café, which chef Tadas Eidukevičius has given a new life to. Sharing the same philosophy, he manages this flexible, multifunctional space in a way that uses resources as efficiently as possible and causes as little damage to the environment as possible. The main principle is reuse: from overused equipment and furniture to old cutlery that has found a second life here. The team also collaborates with craftsmen and scientists - they transform industrial waste, stone chips and iron into tableware or porcelain glazes.

Speaking of food, the tasting menu Demo in a restaurant designed to promote environmental awareness and inspire action – each dish explores an important sustainability theme. Innovative techniques help reduce waste and make the most of remaining ingredients – for example, purified enzymes are used to break down stems and leaves to extract concentrated flavour extracts for sauces. MICHELIN inspectors were impressed with everything from bread baked to a historic recipe to burnt rice pudding with caviar and sour cherries.

Demo joins Red Brick restaurant in Radiškis, about an hour north of the capital. Located on Farmers Circle, a spectacular, remote 700-hectare working farm, this masterfully restored historic barn showcases both local and farm-grown produce in contemporary, highly seasonal dishes that awaken the taste buds. Dishes are presented by a warm, welcoming team – and sometimes even the chefs themselves. For those wishing to extend this unique culinary journey, overnight stays are offered on site.

Four special MICHELIN awards were given

Special MICHELIN awards are given to exceptional professionals whose boundless passion and exceptional skills make a visit to a restaurant an unforgettable experience.

This year's winners are:

Young Chef Award – Darek Medvedev, Augustin, Vilnius

Restaurant Augustin earned a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand in 2025 for its excellent quality and value cuisine, but that’s not all – chef Darek Medvedev has also been awarded the title of Young Chef. At just 29 years old, Darek has impressed the MICHELIN Guide inspectors with his vibrant, modern small plates that combine Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors. Unusually, plant-based dishes play a key role here. According to the inspectors, Darek has a bright future ahead of him – he’s worth following!

Service Award – Lina Marija Balčiūnaitė, Red Brick, Radiškis

Having previously won a MICHELIN Green Star, Red Brick can now also boast a Service Award. The restaurant is located an hour north of the capital, in a beautiful red brick barn, on a farm that operates using the principles of regenerative agriculture. Head of Service Lina Marija Balčiūnaitė embraces this sustainable philosophy with particular enthusiasm – her dedication is evident at every step. While maintaining the highest level of professionalism, she also brings a personal and warm touch to her role, and her charming personality immediately impressed the MICHELIN Guide inspectors.

Sommelier Award – Martynas Pravilionis, Hey she, Vilnius

HeJi stands out among Vilnius restaurants with its elegant, luxurious interior – you’ll even find two tables set in golden raised “bird cage” structures. The cuisine boldly combines Eastern and Western flavors, and this experience is perfectly complemented by sommelier Martynas Pravilionis’ carefully selected drinks collection, which includes more than 100 different champagnes and an impressive selection of sake. The drinks list includes top-notch producers from around the world. If the choice seems too much, Martynas offers five different pairing sets – from wine and sake to soft drinks – ideally suited to the dishes. The restaurant has a separate champagne bar and cocktail bar, so you’ll find everything here – from classic vintage champagnes to creative, themed cocktails. Martynas’ knowledge and craftsmanship are evident in every choice, and his ingenuity and attention to detail did not leave the MICHELIN Guide inspectors indifferent.

Opening of the Year Award – Arnas Petronis, B'ARN Bistro, Vilnius

Getting into the MICHELIN Guide is already a big achievement, but entering with a Bib Gourmand rating is an even bigger one. Add in the warm welcome, the chef’s unwavering passion for cooking and the fact that the restaurant opened less than a year ago – and we have a clear winner for the Opening of the Year award. The slightly unconventional space of B’ARN Bistro is more reminiscent of dinner at an old friend’s than a classic restaurant. The energetic dishes are designed to be shared by the whole table, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy from the first minutes. The MICHELIN Guide inspectors were impressed by Arno Petronio’s personal approach to food – he took them on a taste journey from Asia to South America, allowing them to not only taste, but also feel the world on their plate.
