Today, the "Good Coffee Map" was presented in Vilnius - a guide to the city's cafes offering quality coffee. According to its creators, the free publication published in English will help guests of the city and all lovers of good coffee to get to know the capital of Lithuania better by visiting cafes that can offer coffee from various regions of the world.
The author and artist of the guide is designer Lukas Bytautas. Having studied graphic design and e-media in the United Kingdom for five years, the young man from Vilnius worked there as a barista and got to know the specifics of coffee preparation in detail. Returning to the capital of Lithuania, Lukas found a flourishing coffee culture there, not inferior to European cities.
"This map was born from the love of coffee and travel. Every time I come to a new city, I look for places that sell good coffee. You often have to travel to them on foot, so such walks have become a way for me to get to know the cities I visit better. From now on, the new publication will also help visitors to Vilnius plan their "coffee route", said Lukas.
The largest coffee festival in the Baltic States "Vilnius Coffee Festival 2018" will take place this weekend in Vilnius, at the Loftas art factory. According to its organizer Nidos Kuberis, the coffee culture has flourished in Vilnius over the past few years and the capital now really has something to show its guests. More and more cafes are opening their doors, paying great attention to the origin and quality of coffee beans, offering various methods of coffee preparation, and organizing gatherings of coffee lovers and professionals.
The "Good Coffee Map" was published in cooperation with the Vilnius City Business and Tourism Development Agency "Go Vilnius". According to its manager Inga Romanovskienė, such publications and the cafes themselves contribute to the formation of the image of Vilnius and better knowledge of the city. According to her, Go Vilnius is happy to support enterprising Vilnius people who are ready to work together and create products useful for the city and its guests.
Ten places shaping Vilnius coffee culture are included in the new publication. The description of each cafe includes its working hours, address, contacts and suggested coffee preparation methods to make orientation as easy as possible. The guide can already be picked up for free at Vilnius tourism information centers, cafes or downloaded from the website vilnius-tourism.lt.
