After 23 years of activity in Žvēryne, the famous cafe of the district closed its doors on the last day of spring. This was announced by the owners of the cafe themselves on their social network account.
"Zvejai smuklė", which has been operating on Liubarto Street for more than twenty years, closed its doors forever on May 31. As portal delfi.lt found out, the reason for the closure is the owner's health problems. Thus, it was not the worsening economic situation that ruined the cafe's activities.
"After 23 wonderful years, it is with great sadness that we announce that today is our last day. It was an extraordinary journey full of joy, communication and delicious moments that we created together with you," the cafe's social network account reads.
The owner admitted that the closing day was very sad for her. We are currently looking for someone who would like to rent the premises of the cafe. The current owners would also pass on the furniture and other kitchen appliances.
Since 2001, the "Fishermen's Tavern" has been operating in the old Žvēryn shed. Its owners are the Volynec family, who have nurtured this business for 23 years. Here you could always find home-made food dear to the heart of every Lithuanian. The cafe enticed visitors not only with low prices, but also with delicious homemade food.
