A new breakfast spot has opened in Vilnius – the Lucky Bagel café, which focuses on freshly made bagels. The idea was brought to Vilnius by Ukrainian Dmitriy Savochka, who runs the café – after visiting the United States and being inspired by the variety of bagels he tasted there, he decided to establish a place where morning rituals would become an important part of the day. Although the café is already open, an official opening party will be held on April 5, to which all Vilnius residents and guests of the city are invited.
A cafe opened in a residential complex
The new breakfast spot is located in the Lucky Homes 2 residential complex, so the location of the cafe itself dictated the future name Lucky Bagel.
"When my wife and I were walking in Vilnius in the old town", I asked her if she would ever like to open a cafe. After a while, she said she would definitely like to. I myself have always liked to explore new things, improvise, create something new - that's how Lucky Bagel was born, which we established in our complex," says D. Savočka, the owner of the cafe.
They make everything themselves
According to the businessman, most of the visitors are local residents so far, but it is hoped that the cafe will become a point of attraction for residents of the surrounding areas as well.
"There aren't many quality breakfast places in this area yet, so we want to become a place where it's good to start the day. We hope that people from other districts of Vilnius will come as well - bagels are very popular abroad, so we have no doubt that Vilnius residents and guests of the city will also come to try these pastries," says D. Savočka.
The Ukrainian adds that everything in the newly opened cafe is made on site.
"When I visited JAV", I tasted all kinds of bagels. I brought this idea from America to try it here in Vilnius. Of course, the cafe also has a wide selection of breakfasts, delicious coffee, desserts, and I also think that in time there will be a soup of the day. But the most important thing is that we make everything ourselves, we don't buy ready-made dough - everything is homemade," says the owner of the cafe.
Changes the way you think about living space
The businessman adds that the Lucky Homes 2 complex, in which more than 50 percent of the apartments have already been sold, has naturally turned into more than just a living space. Today, various services are already operating on the territory of these residential buildings - not only the Lucky Bagel cafe is located here, but also a pilates studio, a beauty salon, and soon, it is planned that a dental clinic will open its doors. The territory of the complex was recently decorated with an eye-catching work of art - a colorful drawing by the artist Laura Slavinskaitė. The mural decorating one of the project walls skillfully draws you into the history of the city and often becomes the subject of photographs by passers-by.
"Lucky Homes 2" is no longer just a living space, it is a large complex project. We are changing the traditional approach to residential buildings. We are trying to provide a different lifestyle, where people receive many other services. They all complement each other. A person living here receives various services - sports, a delicious breakfast, beauty treatments. We also plan to open a dental clinic. I understand that this is very important for people, because such a project is no longer just square meters, it is a new lifestyle," says D. Savočka, summing up.
