Sometimes there are moments, as if on purpose, when you have to turn your head for a long time, what to offer or choose, when you want to escape somewhere to the city. What to do when no saving thought comes to mind. We would like to help here, because why bother when madeinVilnius can help. From now on, we will ask the people of Vilnius to give advice on topical issues.
Rimvydas Širvinskas, who is also known as Makalius, became the first person from Vilnius whom we asked a few questions. Makalius is a human travel guru who will advise on any travel issues or simply help you save your hair when you have to pull your hair and not know where to travel. So we think that our four questions will be really easy for this expert.
Which 5 restaurants in the capital would you recommend to visit and why?
- "Blusynė" - because it's a cozy, friendly environment, inexpensive and tasty;
- "ALIVE" - because it's different, plant-based food restaurant. I can't believe all the dishes are vegan!
- Miracles - I had the best breakfast of my life there.
- Panama Food Garden - Amazing outdoor patio/garden and delicious seafood dishes;
- Trinity - I love duck and this one is just perfect. Don't forget their amazing signature beetroot dessert.
It is said that Lithuanians like cheap and good. Is it possible to find a restaurant that fits this "cheap and good restaurant" category, or does it exist in the city at all?
It's hard to say if being cheap it will be restaurant. More like a pub, a cafe. I, who am constantly looking for ways to get around as cheaply as possible, often have to visit canteens and daytime lunch cafes in Vilnius districts. You can eat extremely cheaply and deliciously in the "Senoji Trobelė" cafe located on Žukauska street in the Northern town. Even freshly squeezed juice will cost you less than 80 cents!
The best coffee in town? What makes that place special?
The taste of coffee very often depends on my mood. And the best mood is at the airport, that's why the coffee is the tastiest for me there 🙂
Which bar is the best in town? Why?
Materialiste - because this place has a secret!
Thanks for the answers and hopefully some great ideas for the evening or the weekend.
