Culinary professionals and food lovers alike are attracted every year by BAF, the only food and beverage exhibition in Lithuania and the Baltic States. This year it will be held on November 8-10. exhibition and congress centerLitexpo". The variety of this year's program will not only allow you to smell, but also to taste, as well as to test your culinary knowledge yourself.
"This year, there are about 100 participants from various countries at the exhibition. Most of the guests are from Italy. They present their news every year and share their long-standing traditions and experience in the kitchen. There will also be participants from Greece, Uzbekistan, China, neighboring countries Latvia and Poland, and the exhibition program will be opened by a chef from Sri Lanka", Lilijana Dirsienė, the project manager of the exhibition, briefly presents the abundance and diversity of participants.
The most aromatic exhibition in Lithuania
In the interactive space of "Virtuves studios" culinary shows and competitions will be held all three days, where food bloggers and families will compete.
There will also be action and smells in the stands. There will be presentations of new products and cooking techniques. Also - demonstrations and tastings of food culture that is less common to us:
"I will cook a real festive lamb pilaf in an ancient Uighur steam pot, which is the only one of its kind in Lithuania", - Uzbek chef and pilaf master Darius Lileikis-Dakė briefly presents one of his ideas. Various presentations will also take place at other stands.
Since this is not only a food, but also a drinks exhibition, it will be possible to taste coffees, teas and other drinks with different, perhaps even unexpected aromas:
"This year at the exhibition we will present kombucha, a fermented tea drink produced with the help of good bacteria and yeast. This tea is highly valued due to its probiotic properties and unique taste," Tealure founder Ernestas Klevs briefly presents one of his innovations.
World trends - already in Lithuania
During the exhibition, its participants promise to present the latest trends in healthy nutrition that are traveling to Lithuania or have already arrived.
"Although organic and animal-free products are really special, their increasing abundance not only gives greater freedom to choose healthier alternatives, but also gradually reaches a wider part of society", Tautvydas Petrošius, manager of the Veggie.lt store, is happy about the changes in nutrition in Lithuania.
According to him, vegan products, sugar-free and gluten-free food are gaining more and more popularity recently. Their abundance and variety, it is promised, will surprise visitors to the exhibition this year.
A feast not only for the palate
The Baltic Food and Beverage Exhibition is not limited to the stands of the participants and a wide range of food products. This year, the program is so expanded that immersive action can be found on all three days of the show.
"In addition to the participants' stands, I recommend not to miss the culinary performances at the Virtuvės studija, where well-known Lithuanian and foreign chefs will cook and cook, there will be competitions for culinary bloggers and families, as well as consultations by nutritionists and nutritionists," L. Dirsienė reveals briefly more details of the program.
However, that is not all. The organizers of the exhibition invite you to stop by and eat in the "World's Kitchen" space, where the restaurants will be located. Also participate in the national packaging awards NAPA, the theme of which this year is "Changes in the culture of consumption".
Part of the exhibition program is also outside Litexpo
During the week of the exhibition, ie November 5-11, the Lithuanian Gastronomy Week will take place. Even 33 countries restaurants (24 restaurants in Vilnius, 4 in Beautiful, 5 - on the seafront) will offer exclusive menu sets at fixed prices for one week a year.
"This is a special occasion of the year when different types of restaurants come together and open their doors wide, offering special menus priced at 10, 20 or 30 euros," - briefly presents the idea of Gastronomy Week Lilijana Dirsienė.
On the last day of the BAF exhibition, ie November 10. the best one will also be announced restaurant - "Star of Gastronomy Week". And who will become it will be decided by the visitors of the week on the "Skonis.lt" portal by voting for the most impressed restaurant and its menu.
