The unusual work of art was created to commemorate the solid anniversary of Senoji Varėna and to remember one of the town's most prominent residents - the composer and artist MK Čiurlionis.
This is an engineering road device that marks the entrance to the town. The shape of the tower is reminiscent of the painting "Altar" by the artist from Old Varėna. The initials of MKČiurlionis are carved in the weathered top of the structure. It is also rich in motifs from ancient history, the town's coat of arms, name, altar, and snake motifs. Green, forest and sand colors dominate.
