The new extension will allow all palliative care services provided in the city to be concentrated in one institution, and to expand treatment options for patients with internal and nervous diseases.

"I am glad that after several difficult years, we are not talking about new "covid-XNUMX" wards, but the opening of a new hospital extension, - said the mayor of Vilnius Remigius Šimašius. - Our city is growing not only with young people, but also with older people. And it is our duty to ensure that Vilnius residents receive proper health care at every stage of life, and that doctors have the best possible conditions and tools for this."

The new extension of the Mykolas Marcinkevičius hospital has 10 wards in intensive care and intensive care units, 15 in palliative care, 31 in geriatrics, and another 31 in neurology or internal medicine departments.
