It became clear who won a part of the big prize - 2 million 275 thousand euros in the international Eurojackpot game this Midsummer. It turns out that Kristina from Vilnius has become the country's new millionaire (name changed at the request of the winner), who bought the lucky ticket over coffee.
Interest in games comes from dad
Kristina came to the lottery office together with her daughter, who is also a player and winner. When asked what made women interested in lotteries, Kristina said that it all started with her father.
"I raised my daughter alone - unfortunately, I was not lucky in love. So my dad kept saying that he would win us a million. I remember how we sat together on Sundays and swiped tickets. From those times, it became a habit for both me and my daughter to participate in lotteries from time to time," explained the woman from Vilnius.
He wanted to drink coffee
For last Friday's Eurojackpot game, Kristina had only one ticket for this lottery and bought it at the store "Rimi", located in Saltoniškių st. 9, in Vilnius.
"The coffee machine broke down at home, so I went to my favorite supermarket for a drink"Panorama". And there I went to "Rimi", where I took one "Eurojackpot" and one "Teleloto" ticket at the cash register. By the way, I also won on Teleloto - EUR 3", the player laughed.
Overslept results
The lucky Eurojackpot numbers were drawn on Friday evening in Helsinki. The results soon appeared on the loto.lt website - but Kristina never saw them that day.
"I usually check the Eurojackpot tickets on Friday before going to bed, but that time I fell asleep. I didn't remember that the ticket was in my bag until the afternoon of the next day. While eating, I casually entered the ticket number on the phone with one hand. And when the amount appeared on the screen, the first thought was that there was some kind of advertisement. Then I took the computer and checked it again," said the new millionaire, adding that she didn't sleep so peacefully after the news of the win.
Until now, Kristina had won the most 17 Euros in the lottery. So after visiting many times greater success, a woman is in no hurry to make decisions about what she will do with her winnings.
"I will definitely give a part to my daughter - so that she can afford everything she wants. And we will keep the rest of the money safe for now," says the winner.
Thanks sellers
Saltoniškių st. Kristina visits "Rimi" located at 9 often and praises the employee of this store for the pleasant service. The woman also remembered the cashier who sold the lucky ticket, so she promises to thank her personally.
The organizers of the "Eurojackpot" lottery also congratulated and awarded the staff of the store that brought success.
"There are many passengers on the way to the lucky ticket to the hands of the winner - and each one of them is important. We try to make winning bring joy not only to those who buy a lucky lottery ticket, but also to those who sell it," said Eurojackpot brand manager Justė Pažusytė.
"Eurojackpot" is one of the most popular lotteries in Europe, which unites players from 18 countries. In Lithuania, this lottery started to be organized in 2013. Since then, it has turned many of our compatriots into winners of impressive sums, and some even into multi-millionaires. In 2015, the Kaunas won Eurojackpot for 7,6 million euros. And at the beginning of 2022, the man from Vilnius broke the record of achievements of all Baltic countries, when he collected more than 24 million euros.
