As both testing and vaccination volumes grow, Vilnius city municipality advises residents to save their time and that of others - to register for the necessary procedure so that no one has to wait in lines.
The time allotted for testing is increasing, but at the testing point V. Gerulaičio st. 1 is the queue always long? This was the situation in Vilnius last weekend. As of this Monday, the number of places at the testing point has been increased from 2200 to almost 2700, but it is noticeable that Vilnius residents are coming to be tested en masse without a queue, which becomes an additional challenge not only for those working at the testing point, but also for the residents who came to be tested at the appointed time.
"Only timed arrivals will be served, so those who arrive early or have not checked in may be asked to arrive at their appointed time." Residents need to assess whether unregistered test takers are worth taking the risk and wasting time in the queue, if they will be asked to turn around when they arrive at the security post," says Guoda Ropaitė-Beigė, head of Vilnius Public Health Office "Vilnius svieviau".
The team working at the testing point is making every effort to find solutions so that residents experiencing symptoms can receive the test on the same day. This requires not only the infrastructure, but also the understanding of the population that the tests are carried out only after pre-registration here: https://selfreg.myhybridlab.com/selfregister/testtype
There is another way out - vaccination, which not only helps to prevent severe forms of the COVID-19 disease, but also reduces the need for testing.
You can choose the vaccination site closest to home or work from nearly half a dozen institutions: https://vakcina.vilnius.lt/
Noticing the increasing number of vaccinations, which on November 3 reached the flow of the beginning of September - almost 3000 vaccinations per day - residents are recommended to LITEXPO come to the vaccination center (Laisvės pr. 5) after registering in advance with the Hotline number 1808.
