In the past, nobles used to thank their workers - tubuls - for their summer toil and invite the whole village to a huge celebration full of feasts and entertainment. Of these times event it is also not complete without games, the best types of beer presented by brewers and delicious, noble food.
For two weekends in a row, the participants of Bumbulini could taste impressive fire dishes, such as beer-marinated ribs, homemade sausages or stuffed pig fried according to a special recipe. Zeppelin lovers were also invited to try their hand at the zeppelin eating championship.
Even an Italian did not spare compliments to the Lithuanian zeppelins
In the championship, held on the first Saturday of September, six participants dared to compete for the title of the best eater. They were each served 10 medium-sized zeppelins and given just a few minutes to complete. Among the participants, who were passionate about the zeppelins, which are loved by their compatriots, it was possible to see the famous Italian chef, Gian Luca Demarco, who showed a rather solid result.
"I couldn't beat Lithuanian love and hunger zeppelins - I cut three zeppelins. It was already dangerous, although it was really tasty. Even as a loyal fan of Italian cuisine, I wouldn't trade anything for your culinary masterpiece. Well, unless I put a basil leaf for decoration," the famous chef joked.
The champion title was immediately defended by Marijus from Tytuvėnai, who managed as many as six zeppelins in three minutes. This result could not be surpassed on the last Saturday, when the eater who demonstrated the best skills managed to overcome five and a half giants.
Visitors are invited to visit the manor farm as well as other areas of the historical adventure park next Saturday, when another Bumbulinė and the accompanying zeppelin eating championship will be waiting at the Pakruojos manor.
