Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis says that an office of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce could be established in Vilnius.
He said this after meeting with Abdullah Bin Touqu, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Davos.
"In recent years, the bilateral relations between Lithuania and the UAE have been getting stronger. Direct flights from Dubai to Vilnius are a meaningful continuation of diplomatic cooperation, but there is still room for expanding cooperation. The establishment of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce office in Vilnius would greatly contribute to the further development of economic relations," G. Landsbergis said in the report.
The Minister also handed over an invitation to the UAE Minister of Economy to visit Lithuania with a business delegation.
Lithuanian exports to the UAE in 2022 reached 163 million. euros, most of which are advanced high-tech engineering goods. The growth of the export of Lithuanian goods reached 2,4 times.
UAE investments in Lithuania amount to almost 100 million. euros. The Lithuania-UAE Business Council was established in 2023.
