On Sunday, the leaders of the country congratulated all mothers and guardians of Lithuania on the occasion of Mother's Day.

Congratulating the mothers, the president Gitanas Nauseda thanked them for the gift of knowing this world and the opportunity to experience life.

"Your endless patience, self-sacrifice and love enrich growing souls, invite you to rejoice, grow stronger and rise. Your wisdom, warm embrace and heartfelt comfort help in the most difficult moments of life. Each day, overcoming challenges big and small together, we strive upwards. I thank you all - you are raising a loving and creative Lithuania!", the president's greeting reads.

"Dear mothers, grandmothers, guardians, be surrounded by the respect and gratitude of your loved ones every day. May there never be a shortage of love, light of hope and joy in your home!", the head of the country wished.

The premier Ingrida Simonyte thanked mothers for giving life to the future of Lithuania and wished them not to forget themselves.

"I thank all the mothers who give life to our future Lithuania, care for and educate their children, surround them with understanding and love. Let's cherish and remember our mothers, not forgetting to thank them for everything they gave us. I wish all mothers to feel loved, important and needed, not forgetting to take care of themselves, and to enjoy togetherness surrounded by family," the head of government said in her greeting.

Congratulating mothers, Speaker of the Seimas Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen noted that this is one of the most beautiful and meaningful holidays of the year. She thanked mothers for their support and noted that they are a source of inspiration and strength for the entire state.

"I thank all Lithuanian mothers, guardians for their constant support, comfort and patience, for all the kind and wise words to children and wards, for the sense of security given to them, for the values instilled by their example. You are a source of inspiration and strength not only for your children, communities, but also for our entire country!
