Julia Samorokovskaja, the representative of the Vilnius County Chief Police Commissariat, told Eltai that the person who reported the fire said that he could see smoke on the third floor, and then during the interview, he reported that there was a fire, the reporter thought that a scooter might have exploded, and there should not be people in the apartment.
"When the first firefighters arrived, it became clear that the apartment was on fire on the third floor. Four tanker trucks, ladder trucks were used to extinguish the fire, firefighters evacuated people from the upper floors, apartments were checked," Edita Zdanevičienė, a representative of the Fire Protection and Rescue Department, told Elta.
It is not yet known how many were evacuated, and no reports of casualties have been received.
