From July 18 of this year, passenger cars with Belarusian registration numbers will no longer be allowed into the territory of the European Union. Those who arrived will have to leave or re-register within half a year, Lithuanian customs reports.
The report states that the ban on entering the EU territory applies to passenger cars, regardless of the nationality of their owner or driver.
Customs representatives note that certain exceptions will apply. Until August 16 of this year. will be applied in the event that cars intended for personal use belonging to a citizen of Belarus with a valid visa or residence permit in Lithuania are imported into Lithuania.
The exemption will not apply if the car is owned by legal entities or is used for commercial purposes, the customs notice states.
Lithuanian customs informs that passenger cars with Belarusian registration numbers located in the territory of the European Union, as well as in Lithuania, must leave by January 18 of next year.
The decision was made in the implementation of the EU regulation.
