A unique "Garden of Love" has appeared in the capital - a small park with a romantic name, where you can already admire sixty apple trees. The garden is located in Pūčkorai, in the eastern part of Vilnius city. In the "Garden of Love" every tree will have its own owner, as the wedding dress designer Agnė Beliakaitė will give one apple tree to each young couple who order a wedding dress with their name in this garden.
"This is a very symbolic gift, since time immemorial young people have planted a tree on the occasion of their wedding," says A. Beliakaitė, the author of the garden idea.
According to the designer, the apple tree symbolizes a strong and loving family. All the trees were planted in the spring, they are already established and strong. You will no longer need to plant yourself on the most important day of the year, everything is much more modern, because each apple tree will have its own code, which not only loved ones, but also their friends will be able to find on the Internet. Over the years, it will be fun to come here to have a picnic and take a picture - not only the tree will grow, but also the years of marriage.
Future spouses are surprised at first to hear this idea, because it is common for many to receive a dress and just enjoy the beautiful moments, and this idea makes the creative process of the dress even more meaningful, adds even more meaning to the existing happiness.
"It's nice that young people support the idea and willingly register. Some clients jokingly say that when they face difficulties in their life together, they will come to "Meilės soda" together with their husbands to gain strength", says designer A. Beliakaitė.
The ambition is to turn a small garden into a park
The architect Vytenis Jakštas helped to implement this project, the eye of a professional saw that the Pūčkiori Garden near Vilnius will become a great new place for the people of the city.
"I envisioned not only the placement of the trees, but the potential of the entire garden to become a park." The "Garden of Love" is unique in that it can be seen from the outcrop of Pūčkiori, it is not only a visual angle from below, but also from above, as it can be admired from afar as well," says the architect, who has contributed to more than 1500 projects in Africa, in Europe and Madagascar.
The head of the Pavilniai and Verkiau regional parks directorate is also happy with the initiative of young people to beautify Vilnius and delight those who come to the garden.
"It is not only a beautiful symbol of young people's love, but also a decoration of our territory, ten people planted apple trees all weekend, all park employees willingly contributed", says J. Radžiūnienė.
It is hoped that this promotion will last for a long time, the garden will grow every year, and will become an example for future generations.
