The administration of the courts warns the residents about the distribution of fraudulent summonses to the courts.
According to the Court Administration, fraudulent SMS messages are currently being distributed, in which fraudsters disguised as the court inform that the person who received the message needs to come to a specific court, and it is suggested to search for more detailed information by clicking on the active link in the message.
"The content of the message makes you panic and click on a link that takes you to a fake website used by scammers. Most often, the main goal of fraudsters is to extort personal data or obtain information related to your online banking," the Court Administration points out.
We emphasize that the courts never send messages or messages with additional links to residents via SMS messages either on behalf of themselves or other institutions, do not ask for passwords or other confidential login data, or ask for payment cards or other banking data.
According to the Judicial Administration, usually the SMS messages of fraudsters are sent using services provided by third parties, so fraudsters can send an SMS message with any name of the sender.
"The received false SMS message contains a link not to the court's website, but to other web addresses that may be visually similar to the web address of the court's or other institution's website. If you have doubts about the authenticity of the page indicated in the SMS message, open the court's website directly from the browser", states the announcement of the Court Administration.
The judicial administration strongly recommends not to click on links in suspicious SMS messages. If someone clicked on the received link, they should immediately close the opened browser window and not enter any personal data in the opened browser window - personal code, Internet bank identification code or payment card data.
The judicial administration also recommends not to perform any actions on your mobile phone, i.e. do not enter bank apps or mobile signature codes.
